The design assistant will assist the Facility Design Director with the administrative and artistic details of remodeling or renovation projects. His or her job includes research in to new materials, sourcing, conceptual design for spaces and furniture, and coordinating various vendors. This person may also be responsible for helping with the budget, construction drawings and monitoring vendors to make sure they adhere to project specs, sourcing materials, and scheduling and tracking appointments.

Duties consist of using mechanized equipment such as backhoe, trucks, plows, trenchers and manual equipment

such as shovels, rack, pick axe, posthole diggers to install buried cable, fiber, and placement of pedestals or grade

level vaults along right of ways. Duties may also include getting up and out of back of truck setting up safety

perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and flagging traffic by holding stop and slow signs
