Description
The Laboratory Te c hnician pos iti on will work with Management , the Chemistry Operations Group, and the Service Quality Group, to continuously monito r , ev al u a te, revise and improve w o rk p ro cedures , pr o cesses, and s y stems to ensure best pr ac t ic es th a t result i n a s a f e wor k environment , i mprov e d productivity and the highest level of quali t y for manu f a c tu r ed products in our industr y .
The individual i n filling th i s role will be a champion for product quali t y i n the org a nizati o n , unders t and how the qual i ty of our ma n ufactured p roduc t s impa ct s our cu s tome rs a n d w ill ensu r e that pr o du ct qua l ity for all finished goods e xc eeds customer e x pec t a ti ons . The individual will be r es pon s ible fo r packaging and labeling of chemistry produc t s , pr odu ct p r eparation, g lassware c leaning , m o nit o ring of equipment , rec o rd keeping, and other gen e ral laboratory du t ies and task s as nec e ssary.
The Laboratory Tech n ician should al s o strive to achieve the following :
· Understand the manufacturing quality control procedure for ea c h p r oduc t
· Identify conditions that hinder the production of all products in a manner th a t is efficient, effec t iv e , and ensures the highest level of safety a n d quality
· Evaluate and continuously i mprove procedures to dr iv e gains in p rodu c t i v i t y and produ ct qualit y
· Ensure that work proced u res and SOP ' s are c ontinuously updated t o reflec t bes t pra c ti ce s and t ha t team members are follow i ng the work procedures properly and consi s tentl y
· Cross-train with colleagues on manufactur i ng p r ocedures to a c h ie v e a high le v el of comp e t e nc y in the manufacturing of all products
· Understand and apply the company ' s Qualit y S y st e m and ensur e c om p liance w i th all q ualit y sys tem certifications and accreditations . As s i s t in r e gula r i nte rn al quali t y audits and e x t e rnal qua li t y a u dit s
· Work with the Safety Comm i ttee and team m e mbers to ensure a saf e work environm e nt a nd to monitor training requi r ements and adh e rence to sa f e t y policies
· Perform routine calibration and m ai nt ena n ce o f labo r atory in s t r um ent ation , tool s , a n d suppli es

Qualifications
· An Associat e s Degr ee in C h emistry or a re l ated scien tific discipli n e or equ i v alent e x perienc e
· Manufactu r ing and pac k aging e x perience , i n a lab o r at ory se tti ng p r eferr e d
· Knowledge of th e prin c ip les a n d pra c t ice of la b o r atory q u a li t y a s suranc e and quali t y control
· Knowl e dge of laborat o ry sa fet y pr act ices and proc e dures
