JOB PURPOSE
 
The Cost Accountant is a contributory member of the Finance team and will have P&amp;L responsibility for Cura CS and all associated business services. In general, this can be further identified as being responsible for (a) calculating and analyzing financial data; (b) maintaining profit and loss statements for two business segments; (c) understanding and managing any / all balance sheet implications, and (d) recommending and maintaining a strong controls environment. They will coordinate the costing and inventory valuation functions, and conduct both variance and periodic report analyses as needed. They will be responsible for developing and documenting policies and procedures and have direct involvement in monthly financial closing and periodic audits. This person will report to the Controller and may have supervisory responsibilities of the Finance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Ensure proper balance sheet valuation of all inventories which includes finished goods and work in process</li>
<li>Ensure all cost of goods sold are properly classified and stated in the general ledger</li>
<li>Maintaining/updating cost accounting in ERP System – BOM’s, Routing, and Cost Estimates</li>
<li>Evaluate data collection systems, business intelligence tools, and key performance metrics to ensure information integrity and expand on metrics and tools</li>
<li>Investigate standard cost variances and communicate root cause information to management</li>
<li>Provide various monthly and quarterly inventory reports</li>
<li>Develop and monitor all inventory cycle and physical counts</li>
<li>Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost or variance analyses and profitability</li>
<li>Ensure the company is adequately reserved for obsolescence based on sound metrics</li>
<li>Assist in month end close activities &amp; Reports – Preparing JE’s, Account Reconciliations</li>
<li>Serve as an advocate for continuous improvement and application of systems to Cost Accounting processes</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

Overview:

This role supports IT and administrative activities related to RTasq. RTasq is an electronic time-keeping and production tracking application that uses custom menus to facilitate the timely and accurate collection of units constructed, using “decision tree” logic. The position will be located in Sacramento with local travel to the Bay Area and Fresno.

IT Administrator - Sacramento

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), Program Manager, and experienced Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will serve in the Department of Medicine (DOM), Division of Clinical Pharmacology. The CRC will provide support and coordination of clinical studies. The research protocols within Clinical Pharmacology are varied and include clinical trials, community based interventions, and observational studies with the intent to understand the use and behavioral patterns of tobacco use disorder and nicotine addiction, biomarkers of tobacco use and nicotine exposure, and how to prevent exposure to secondhand smoke in vulnerable populations. Clinical Pharmacology is also investigating the safety and pharmacology of cannabis products such as marijuana and cannabis extracts. Research studies take place at the UCSF Tobacco Research Center and/or the CTSI at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG). 
The CRC will be responsible for working across several study protocols, but primarily one clinical trial investigating the use of an electronic cigarette as a harm reduction product in a population of cigarette smokers. 
The CRC will support the clinical research team by recruiting healthy volunteer participants, evaluating eligibility, obtaining informed consent and scheduling study visits at Clinical &amp; Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The CRC will encourage participation, cooperation, and efficiency in the clinical research process; ensure all study procedures are completed on time; complete study visits; study forms; collecting, entering and cleaning data into study databases; assisting in biosample transfers for lab analysis; maintaining data quality; gathering medical history data; assisting with preparation of reports and tables; organizing files; ordering study supplies; attending team meetings. The CRC will ensure all procedures that take place on the hospital research ward are completed as per protocol and accurate. The CRC will serve as the primary contact for the CTSI nurses. 
The CRC will assist with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) online system (i.e. renewals, modifications, new applications); participate in the review and writing of protocols to ensure approval; participate in grant and manuscript development; help assure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies; oversee study data integrity; implement and maintain periodic quality control procedures; maintain all regulatory documents; report study progress to investigators and participate in any audits or reviews of study protocols.
