Position Summary

We are seeking to add on to our collaborative team environment within our Santa Cruz laboratory, and currently have an open position for an LC-MS Analyst.
Must be comfortable working with and around cannabis products.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: 
<ul>
<li>Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g., Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods</li>
<li>Adhere to appropriate quality measures to meet or exceed the standards set by ISO/IEC 17025 and company requirements relevant to assigned duties</li>
<li>Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment</li>
<li>Maintain a neat and accurate record system; keep accurate records of work performed on a daily basis and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes using both physical copies and electronic</li>
<li>Routine laboratory tasks such as cleaning glassware and maintaining chemical inventory/ordering supplies as needed</li>
</ul>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS: 
<ul>
<li>Must be at least 21 years of age</li>
<li>Familiarity and proficiency with maintenance of Liquid Chromatographs coupled to Mass Spectrometers (LC-MS)</li>
<li>Proficient in the analysis of data produced by LC-MS</li>
<li>LC-MS method development experience a plus</li>
<li>Experience in sample preparation for LC-MS analysis</li>
<li>Experience with pesticide residue analysis a plus</li>
<li>Experience with mycotoxin analysis a plus</li>
<li>Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)</li>
<li>Proficient in the use of basic laboratory hardware such as balances, syringes, and pipettes</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills</li>
<li>Responsive problem solver and action oriented</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel data manipulation</li>
<li>A strong mechanical aptitude</li>

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
<ul><li>Have completed 2 years of college or university education that included coursework in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university and 3 years full-time practical experience.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Earned a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university</li></ul>

LC-MS Analyst

Field Sampling Specialist
CannaSafe Analytics is committed to defining consumer safety and quality assurance standards for the cannabis industry. We are a full-service testing laboratory offering a one-stop solution where cannabis cultivators and distributors can ensure that their products are in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Samplers will report to the Director of Operations. They must work under all laws and regulations of the legal cannabis market. Samplers must be detail oriented and punctual.
General Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform on-site field sampling pick-ups in accordance with state regulations and Lab operating procedures</li>
<li>Interface between clients and laboratory</li>
<li>Provide excellent customer service</li>
<li>Driving for multiple hours at a time throughout the Los Angeles Area</li>
<li>Ability to build lasting relationships with clients</li>
<li>Follow detailed chain of custody protocols according to state regulations</li>
<li>Ability to respect and maintain client confidentiality</li>
<li>Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints</li>
<li>Collect detailed data in the field according to SOPs</li>
<li>Input data into LIMS and seed-to-sale system, as required</li>
<li>Run errands, as needed</li>
</ul>
Education and experience required:
<ul>
<li>Minimum 2-year associates degree in related field (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with time management skills and ability to self manage</li>
<li>Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record</li>
<li>Personable, Organized and Punctual</li>
<li>Previous Customer Service experience preferred</li>
<li>Must be at least 21 years old</li>
<li>Familiarity with the Los Angeles area</li>
<li>Familiarity with the Bureau of Cannabis Control regulations is a plus</li>

Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
