The Director of Cultivation will be responsible for the direction and oversight of multiple cultivation teams, each operating in different types of facilities and utilizing varying grow methodologies. He/she will be responsible for managing the planning, design, construction, and operations for Next Big Crop’s cultivation projects. The Director of Cultivation will manage client relationships, and collaborate with the client, their team, contractors, local authorities, regulatory bodies, Next Big Crop’s team and General Cannabis in order to achieve smooth, consistent and profitable operations. Cultivation project-types include warehouse/indoor, greenhouse, outdoor and hemp. This position will not be located in Washington. Must be willing and able to move frequently to different cultivation sites located throughout the U.S.
 
Duties and responsibilities
 
Responsible for managing multiple cannabis cultivation facilities, both medical and recreational, ranging from 10k SF to 300k SF
 She/he will oversee all propagation, plant maintenance, plant nutrition, pest management, harvest/dry/cure and inventory-tracking
 Design nutrient recipes and schedules, using both pre-made fertilizers as well as from base salts
 Oversee the design, installation and operation of advanced automation/environmental control systems such as Argus, Netafim etc.
 Manage, supervise and direct the activities of all cultivation staff, and make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, termination or advancement
 Collect and review data to optimize yields for each strain/harvest and work with senior management to make improvements
 Identify and implement ways to decrease capital and operating expenses through design, process, and equipment
 Update and implement all Cultivation SOPs and related associated documents
 Navigate regulatory and compliance considerations, and develop and implement processes and standards based on regulations, which vary in each location
 
Qualifications
 Required Qualifications: 
Managed 100,000+ SF cannabis cultivation facility
 10 years+ of industry experienced
 4-year degree from an accredited university
 Expert level knowledge of all growing mediums, nutrient regimens, cultivation methodologies, environmental requirements and cultivation techniques.

 Construction experience, including an ability to read and understand building plans, proficiency in heavy equipment operation, and a working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

The Role

The Sr. Grow Specialist provides manual labor to support the activities and operations of the Grow Department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures and operational guidelines. The Sr. Grow Specialist will assist the Assistant Grower in oversight of grow operations.



Responsibilities

<ul>
<li>Execute &amp; complete assigned tasks, projects and expectations of the Grow Department in accordance with GTI’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Main tasks include, but are not limited to:</li>
<li>
Harvesting plants and documenting in State traceability program</li>
<li>
Big leafing plants and documenting in State traceability program</li>
<li>
Potting plants</li>
<li>
Managing waste and documenting in State traceability program</li>
<li>
Maintain open communication with management team and co-workers</li>
<li>
Report employee issues or product situations</li>
<li>
Abide by GTI and grow department’s safety policies</li>
<li>
Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties</li>
<li>
Other duties as assigned</li>

Qualifications

<ul>
<li>Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and co-workers</li>
<li>
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees</li>
<li>
Basic math skills</li>
<li>
Understand applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures</li>

Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives</li>

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license or State ID card</li>

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age</li>

Must pass any and all required background checks</li>

Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry</li>

Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge</li>

Minumum Education and Experience
<ul>

High School Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>
Previous manufacturing/laborer experience preferred</li>
<li>
Previous agricultural experience preferred</li>
<li>
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.</li>

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.</li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.</li>

GTM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cultivation Supervisor.
Description: 
Cultivation Supervisor provides direct support to the Cultivation Manager in all aspects of cultivation processes. Assists in management of climate and irrigation control systems by inspecting on a regular basis, making adjustments as directed, and responding to emergency alarms to ensure integrity of growing conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Control production outputs via computer monitoring systems.</li>
<li>Coordinate with IPDM department on treatment applications and ensure re-entry times to grow rooms.</li>
<li>Ensure all equipment and supplies are accounted for and properly maintained.</li>
<li>Prepare and review production reports.</li>
<li>Ensure personal hygiene practices are implemented in all cultivation areas.</li>
<li>Ensure assigned facility is organized and clean at all times.</li>
<li>Monitor and maintain cultivation area climates as specified by Cultivation Manager.</li>
<li>Supervise harvesting operation as necessary/required.</li>
<li>Ensure that quality of work/product meet defined specifications.</li>
<li>Support the Integrated Pest and Disease Management programs.</li>
<li>Support and monitor the Irrigation Team.</li>
<li>Ensure the accuracy of required tracking and control documents and reports.</li>
<li>Monitor and report on all elements of the product growth cycle</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS &amp; SKILLS: 
<ul>
<li>Experience in the cultivation of cannabis in an indoor environment.</li>
<li>Effective communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.</li>
<li>Takes pride in ownership.</li>
<li>Leadership skills.</li>
<li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in job related field.</li>
<li>Available to work extended hours, holidays and weekends including a rotating duty schedule as required.</li>
<li>Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds at least waist high frequently.</li>
<li>Capable of working off the ground at heights.</li>
<li>Capable of working in extreme temperature variances and/or high levels of humidity.</li>
<li>Capable of properly handling various chemicals and fertilizers.</li>
<li>Capable of Standing/Walking for prolonged periods of time.</li>
<li>Capable of working directly with cannabis plants and its byproducts.</li>
<li>Must be at least 21 years of age to satisfy the essential functions of this job.</li>
</ul>
