Overview: The Grower Accounting Manager will be responsible for timely and accurate settlement information to growers, and for analysis and reporting of inventory movements and fluctuations from standards. Ensures all requirements for the Company are met, all audit requirements are fulfilled, and the Oracle Pooling Module is properly maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and pool accounting guidelines.
Here's what you'll do:
- Conduct financial and operational analyses in support of the growers, varietal management and senior managers.
- Ensures that charges entered for each grower agree with contract.
- Oversee interface of monthly pooling activity to the general ledger. Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to pooling.
- Oversee and make recommendations and issue advance payments to growers based upon pool maturity and activity.
- Ensure fruit sales are properly reflected in pooling in regard to grade and size. Make adjustments as necessary.
- Oversee sale of juice and ensure properly reflected in pools.
- Reconcile related G/L accounts and explain all variances.
- Oversee requests for payment to Pick and Haul Contractors.
- Coordinate distributions to Coop members in conjunction with Pooling Department.
- Assist in coordination and preparation of yearly audit. Assist in preparing audit package.
- Supervise Pool Accounting Staff.
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in Finance/Accounting or related field.
- Working knowledge and understanding of balance sheet, income statement and computer accounting systems (Oracle experience preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of pool accounting procedures.
- Ability to meet monthly deadlines and to analyze accounting reports.
- Financial, operational analysis, agricultural accounting experience a plus.
