Duties
The Washington State Attorney General's Office's Government Compliance and Enforcement Division (GCE) has an opening in its Enforcement Section for an attorney to litigate on behalf of the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB). 
GCE is a professional and inclusive work environment where teamwork, high quality legal service and work-life balance are highly valued. GGE includes 45 attorneys and professional staff located in Olympia. The division's work includes a diverse mix of litigation and client advice. We provide legal services to 30 state agencies, boards, and commissions, including those that protect citizens by regulating health care providers, insurers, liquor and marijuana establishments, gambling, campaign finance, ethics, and financial institutions. GCE offers the opportunity for client assignments to change over time and attorneys can gain experience with a wide variety of client agencies and areas of the law. 
The successful candidate will join a team of attorneys representing LCB in liquor and marijuana licensing and enforcement actions. LCB attorneys litigate in administrative forums with some cases in Superior Court and appellate courts. Duties include preparing witnesses for hearings, crafting motions and legal pleadings, conducting necessary legal research, responding to discovery, providing options based advice relating to litigation, evaluating cases for settlement, and appearing for hearings. This position involves a high volume, fast-paced litigation caseload. The successful candidate may also provide backup litigation support for the section's other clients.

Qualifications

 Organize processing and packaging operations schedule by studying sales forecasts, determining product needs, current schedules and availability of equipment, materials, and employees
 Administrative Management: 
Forecast manpower needs on a short and long-term basis and develops a plan for implementation collaborating with Human Resources
 Participate in policy development and documentation
 Maintain general oversight and ensure the accuracy of records
 Financial Management: 
Participate in preparation of annual budget and regular variance statements
 Provide vision regarding the overall financial health of the company
 Provide vision and leadership in long-range fiscal planning to ensure the continuity and solvency of the company
 Production/Quality Control: 
Ensure accurate documentation of production, quality control and inventory data and records
 Oversee and ensure high safety standards always
 Direct production activities to ensure safety and compliance with quality control standards, regulatory compliance, and agreement
 Improve workplace ergonomics to reduce or eliminate work injuries
 Improve all aspects of processing, packing, shipping and product quality assurance by studying process flowcharts; recommending modifications in workflow, workstations and product; develop new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases applying techniques of Five “S” and Continuous Improvement
 Reduce waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques, recommending changes; identifying analyzing waste
 Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Horticulture, Agri-business, Engineering, Plant and Soil Sciences, or equivalent job experience
 10+ years in production/operations management in production/food/industrial facilities
 Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
 Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Screening
