Billing Specialist

The Epidemiologist II will support the Regulatory and Translational Science Unit in the Bureau of Environmental Health (BEH) Environmental Toxicology Program (ETP). This individual will be responsible for supervising and conducting public health assessments associated with the cultivation, preparation, and use of cannabis and cannabis derived products sold in Massachusetts. Under the direction of the ETP Director, the incumbent will collaborate with senior staff members in the ETP, and will directly supervise staff and contractors conducting public health research and surveillance (e.g., health surveys, environmental and biological contaminant monitoring, cannabinoid exposure assessment, cannabis use surveillance, literature-based epidemiology research, etc.). The individual will assist the Director with research study design, management, and execution as well as translating technical work-products from program activities into tools that educate stakeholders (local health departments, clinicians, industry, senior leadership, patients, consumers, etc.). The individual may represent the ETP at public meetings, as requested by senior staff.

This position provides guidance for analytical and evaluation activities in the Environmental Toxicology Program, conducts epidemiological and statistical analyses of Regulatory and Translational Science Unit data to determine trends incidence and prevalence of health topics. It recommends standards for and conducts data quality assurance and control as well as prepares and presents statistical and epidemiological reports. The Epidemiologist II provides criteria for generation of unsolicited reports for purposes of quality improvement. The position independently and collaboratively develops and/or selects study design and methodological techniques for research efforts using databases and other available data sources. It prepares and presents evidence-based analyses to inform the development of regulations and policies.

The candidate in this position must keep informed of current trends and data in the environmental health basis of diseases by reviewing professional literature and by attending, when feasible/appropriate, seminars, courses and conferences.

Staff Accountant

The Environmental Analyst III serves as a Senior Scientist in the Bureau of Environmental Health's Environmental Toxicology Program. Under the supervision of the Regulatory and Translational Science Unit Chief and the direction of the Environmental Toxicology Program Director, this individual will be responsible for ensuring that quality systems (consistent with ISO/IEC 17025) are implemented in laboratories registering with, or providing services to the Commonwealth. The private testing services may include the laboratory analyses of cannabis or various environmental media.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, reviewing of laboratory standard operating procedures; providing technical assistance to private and government laboratories (or consultants) in meeting established testing standards, scheduling, planning and conducting laboratory visits; notifying lab(s) of pending visits, audits or inspections; publishing reports; communicating visit/audit/inspection outcomes to supervisors and senior leadership; reviewing responses; closing audits; and following up on corrective action.

The individual will also assist in marijuana product surveillance activities and the interpretation and translation of technical analytical toxicology data. The incumbent will assist in preparing draft responses to technical inquiries from analytical testing laboratories, industry representatives, and consumers. The Environmental Analyst III will provide technical consultation on reports of environmental contaminants in cannabis or environmental media. This position requires occasional travel to laboratories but is not a laboratory-based or “bench” position as this individual will not be performing day-to-day functions in a laboratory setting. The individual may also represent the Environmental Toxicology Program at related meetings, as requested. Travel to various locations in Massachusetts in support of the above mentioned responsibilities may be required, and occasional travel to evening meetings or overnight travel may be necessary.

Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Evaluates complex environmental chemical, microscopic, cultural, biochemical and immunologic data packages that identify bacteria of clinical and public health importance.

Operator - Underground

The Sub-Contractor Coordinator works closely with the Department Manager to ensure contract agreements and insurance requirements are satisfied for all sub-contractors. The Coordinator will conduct and manage internal audits in the Contract Department to ensure compliance in all areas. The position will assist with entry of insurance into company portals (Unity, CPS and Solomon) and will process all incoming mail.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Sub-Contractor Coordinator

IT Support Specialist

The Assistant Operations Analyst will assist with the coordination and analysis of all projects for Kanaan Communications. Assists with customer contracts, job cost analysis and overall production/reporting of jobs in CPS/Unity.
