The N&amp;R Publications Department produces a wide range of 4- to 16-page custom publications, which tell the story of an organization through profiles that illustrate its mission. N&amp;R has produced over 300 custom publications that are handed out, inserted into newspapers, and used in various forms of social media.
The Custom Publications Designer functions as a member of the Design Team, which is responsible for creative solutions for editorial, marketing, corporate and sales challenges. This position is responsible for the design, production and finalizing of unique client publications for N&amp;R. Additional responsibilities include filing and archiving files as well as assisting with all material scanning. This position will also assist with advertising and editorial design, as needed.

Cable Technician

We are seeking highly motivated residential drop bury technicians to perform cable television, drop bury installations.

Responsibilities include:

<ul>
<li>Provides the subscriber with the best service and promotes a good relationship between the subscriber and the local cable company. Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services to the subscriber</li>
<li>Verify all locates are completed before any task to be performed.</li>
<li>To install new service cable drops, replace existing cable drop, trouble shoot, diagnose service issue.</li>
<li>Hand Burial or machine trenching to length up to 350 feet.</li>
<li>To work with a 700lb drop bury machine. To complete side walk and driveway bores, to include use of boring attachment.</li>
<li>Re-connection of existing underground drop from tap to ground block.</li>
<li>Drops are repaired, replaced, or re-route as necessary. Permanent underground drop replacement with new RG-11 flooded drop cable when required.</li>
<li>Includes removal of any old drops on site when necessary and all restoration to customer satisfaction.</li>
<li>Any and all follow up work needing to be performed needs reported to manager.</li>
<li>Works closely with the Dispatch and Project Managers for assignment of work load.</li>
<li>Recording signal levels, daily times, function codes and any additional system specific required documentation</li>
<li>Operate vehicle, drop bury machine, hand tools, power tools, ladders, signal level meters, volt meters, converters, cable locators, leakage detection devices, other test equipment</li>
<li>Completes required paperwork, timesheets, daily service orders, vehicle inspection, logs, noting any problems requiring attention of other staff members. These reports must be submitted timely</li>

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer the Human Resource Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of the HR organization to include recruiting, interviewing of new staff, collaboration with executive management on strategic HR planning and serve as a link between MMAC’ s management and its employees. The manager will establish and document policies and procedures to guide the organization’s implementation of HR best practices that will lead to a high-performance culture and the retention of a superior workforce. Compensation plan development and benefit program administration will be the responsibility of the Human Resource Manager.
Key skill sets include knowledge and experience in HR policy development and documentation, employment law, compensation/benefits, employee relations, safety, labor relations, strong written and verbal communication skills and affiliation with related professional Human Resource organizations.
MMAC largely initiated its operating activities in 2017 and the sourcing of the above referenced position represents the first step toward the formation of a functional HR department to address the needs described above. The person who is selected to serve in this capacity shall be the thought leader to create first approaches with respect to the core responsibilities of the department as well as the initial administrator to undertake the daily duties of the function, including management of the time recording and payroll systems.
BACKGROUND
Minimum of a Bachelor’ degree or equivalent in Human Resource, Business or related major. A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resource positions to include specialized training in employment law, employee relations and labor relations combined with active affiliations with appropriate Human Resource networks.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the individuals experience and will include both a base salary and bonus opportunity.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the HR Administrator is responsible for providing general HR support with a variety of administrative responsibilities, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality. Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees</li>
<li>Process and verify new employee paperwork and complete on-boarding process for all new employees</li>
<li>New employee on-boarding and assimilation including but not limited to: coordinating new hire set-up, conducting new hire orientation, and communication with new hires</li>
<li>Maintaining HRIS system and prepare necessary paperwork for payroll</li>
<li>Administrative support to HR and Health &amp; Safety committee</li>
<li>Prepare new hire packages, prepare desks, desk phones and prepare basic supply package for first day</li>
<li>Maintaining employee files</li>
<li>Assists with Corporate events (ie. Happy Hour)</li>
<li>Liaise with IT to set-up new desk phones and ordering new equipment for new hires</li>
<li>Schedule interviews</li>
<li>Coordinating RPIC Applications and fingerprinting</li>
<li>Coordinate Security checks for new hires (MyBackcheck)</li>
<li>Track mandatory Health &amp; Safety training</li>
<li>Assist in coordinating employee training for new hires and temporary employees</li>
<li>Liaise with remote sites to coordinate flow of paperwork for HR</li>
<li>Liaises with security contact to coordinate new pass cards</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Experience and Background
<ul>
<li>Post-secondary education with a focus on Human Resources an asset</li>
<li>Working knowledge of employment standards legislation and progressive HR policies and practices</li>
<li>Strong business acumen with the ability to assess situations not only from an HR perspective but also from a business perspective</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, written communication and presentation skills</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines required</li>
<li>Strong initiative to take direction, apply learning’s, and execute on requests;</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidential information as it pertains to HR issues</li>
<li>Possess advanced level computer skills in word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentations</li>
