JOB SUMMARY:

The production and compliance manager is responsible for managing many aspects of manufacturing operations including production schedules, resources, compliance, safety, security and maintenance of all facilities. Manages and maintains vendor relationships to ensure all necessary resources are available to meet company objectives. Ensures that all operations are compliant with local and state regulations. This is a technical job with many functions and requires clear communication, keen attention to detail, and high levels of accountability.

Essential Functions:

Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas. Ensure that all operations are properly documented and done according to local and state regulations.

Compliance:

  • Establish, manage and monitor compliance programs with local, state and federal regulations as they relate to the cannabis industry.
  • Manage company’s standard operating procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate 3rd party audits.
  • Manage company’s usage of compliance software.
  • Oversee & track customer complaint corrective action follow-through.
  • Regulatory record keeping (BCC, CDPH, Local) including business records, marketing and advertising, testing, inventory and transportation.
  • Staff compliance training.

Production:

  • Establish, manage and monitor quality standards for all steps of our production processes internally as well as the delivery of our finished goods.
  • Establish and maintain good inventory controls ensuring our physical inventory is accurate and updated in near real time. Perform monthly inventory counts and identify and solve systematic issues around the processes as needed.
  • Safety, security and maintenance programs must be “audit ready” at a drop of a hat. Ensures all processes are being maintained and appropriate documentation is available for audit.
  • Responsible for maintaining batch log process across company to ensure accurate records are available in case of product recall or other quality issue.
  • Continually looking for areas of improvement within the company’s operations. Work to improve measured results on-going.
  • Participates in the annual and quarterly planning process and is expected to drive activities to deliver established priorities.
  • Manages and improves key strategic sourcing of plant materials in order to create a company competitive advantage and ensuring a steady stream of quality source materials to meet company objectives.
  • Actively participates in NPD process and works to establish various costs related to input materials and MFG costs as well as other assigned duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience with production, compliance and safety management
  • Must have Fishbowl or similar ERP inventory management software experience
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 until 5:30 with occasional overtime
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a livescan/background check
  • Must be 21 years or older as mandated by industry regulations
