VP of Sales Overview

We’re a cannabis/tech startup that just got fully funded (May 2018) at a $10M valuation and we’re looking for a stellar VP of Sales to add to our badass team. If you’re a rockstar salesman/saleswoman and you’ve been looking for a chance to enter the $30 billion a year (and growing) cannabis industry, then keep reading.

Harvest Direct Enterprises (“HDE”) is a cannabis IP development firm. We invented a device (LACY - Lossless Activation Chamber Y) that decarboxylates cannabinoids and activates them for oral consumption without degrading the full-plant profile of cannabis. Basically, what this means is that we are the first company in the world to develop a manufacturing process that can put an entire cannabis strain with all of its unique effects and medicinal properties into non-smoked drug delivery systems (capsules, topicals, inhalers, etc.).

LACY is the first manufacturing process of its kind. Our technology is so innovative and disruptive that we won first place in MJBizCon’s Innovation Battlefield (the largest and most renowned cannabis business conference in the world; the “TechCrunch Disrupt” of the cannabis industry).

We’re getting ready to take over the cannabis game and we need a first-class VP of Sales to affirm and ensure the success of this company.

What we can offer

  • $45,000 base salary
  • 10% commission (uncapped) on each unit you sell. Each LACY retails for $200k-$250K, so you stand to make $20k-$25k on each successful sale
  • Medical and dental
  • Guaranteed 25% raise in base salary if you can exceed the sales goal for 2018
  • 1% equity in HDE (unvested) if you can exceed the sales goal for 2019
  • All sorts of bonuses and prizes for meeting our quarterly goals

Who we’re looking for in a VP of Sales

HDE needs a sales professional of the highest caliber. We’re not looking for someone who wants to try their hand at sales and see if they can cut it. We need a talented, experienced, and driven salesperson that not only seeks to exceed our expectations, but to set the new standards for future hires. VP of Sales Responsibilities

  • Sell LACY to major cannabis producers/processors/manufacturers (10,000 potential customers in the US alone)
  • Sell 10 LACY units (+royalties) by the end of 2018
  • Develop and swiftly follow up on leads
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly sales quotas as defined by management
  • Travel to tradeshows and other industry conventions and lead the sales efforts at such events
  • Adhere to sales guidelines as communicated by management
  • Document all initial and ongoing customer contacts as required
  • Learn all you can about current and emerging trends in the cannabis industry
  • Develop new and creative ways to capitalize on marketing efforts
  • Uphold the highest levels of integrity and customer service
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by management

Future Responsibilities

As VP of Sales, and the first salesperson joining the HDE team, your roles and responsibilities will evolve as our company grows. The following are responsibilities and duties that will fall under your wheelhouse as our sales team grows:

  • Quickly learn about and adapt to new products and services that HDE develops
  • Train and aid in the hiring of new members of the sales team
  • Lead the sales force to meet the quarterly quotas set forth by management

VP of Sales Qualifications

(Required)

  • At least 5 years of sales experience
  • At least 2 years of experience effectively and competently leading a successful sales team
  • Experience selling products that retail for $100,000 or more
  • A perfect balance of ego and empathy

(Preferred but not required)

  • Working knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products
  • A basic understanding of cannabis science and pharmacology
  • Experience selling extraction devices, medical devices, and/or pharmaceutical production/processing equipment
