VP of Finance
Job Description:
Green Bits is the nation’s leading retail management and automated
compliance platform built to help legal cannabis retailers grow their
businesses. Green Bits serves approximately 1,000 cannabis retailers across
12 states – Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington
State. Green Bits processes more than $2.2 billion in sales annually through
its point-of-sale platform. With more than 60 employees, Green Bits is
headquartered in San Jose, California, and has an office in Portland,
Oregon.
Green Bits generates revenue from sales of hardware, professional services
and software subscriptions. The company is growing rapidly and forecasts
$10-$15 million in 2018 revenue. Green Bits total revenue grew 135% in
2017, while recurring revenue grew 215% in the year.
In this role, you will be driving and supporting
Green Bits financial planning, forecasting,
reporting, and analysis efforts, you’ll have the opportunity to turn these
insights into initiatives, running with them and helping drive strategic
finance and operational accounting decisions. With unique visibility into
the business, you will be able to reach insights others might not be able
to make. This person has to be proven as elite in hiring world class
finance teams and deeply believe in servant leadership as a model to
grow and empower an organization.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Finance will serve as a strategic
thought leader and will be relied upon to provide insightful and trusted
counsel on both financial as well as broad-based business issues.
Specific responsibilities include
- Establish a solid financial foundation with
to grow effectively over the next several years
- Provide hands-on, metrics driven financial
profitability and provide the executive team with
“operational insight” to better manage the
business
- Analyze business risks and opportunities, and
financial results of the business
- Recruit, motivate, and mentor a team that will scale with the organization
- Be a collaborative solutions-oriented team-player
- Recent experience as VP of Finance at a fast-growing venture backed
- Strong FP&A skill set with analytical, intellectually curious mindset
- Ability to develop and implement systems, tools and processesincreasing business clarity and efficiency
- Data driven/metrics-oriented approach with an understanding of building
- Strong communication skills, good team player who works well cross
- Raw intellect, talent and energy are critical
