Job Description:

CannaCraft is one of the largest Cannabis companies in California, representing AbsoluteExtracts, Care By Design and Satori Chocolates. We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team! The role will be responsible for the company's accounting, cash management operations and financial reporting.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Manage the centralized accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll, fixed asset, general ledger and point of sales accounting.

Consolidate the companies fully and partially-owned subsidiaries using generally accepted accounting principles.

Organizes and manages the monthly close process and the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial statements. Ensures all accounts are reconciled and properly reflected in the financial statements. Provides analytical review and plan-to-actual reporting.

Prepares quarterly board reports.

Manages all external reporting requirements including quarterly investor report and dividend distributions, insurance, banking and tax (e.g. payroll, sales/use and personal property taxes) and the annual audit.

Builds effective and powerful accounting practices by developing both manual and high technology strategies and tactics primarily in the development of the company’s current configuration of technology.

Be a manager for the accounting department that is capable of planning the workload so that deadlines can be reliably made and met; be a trainer of new skills and practices that builds the team’s capacity to act.

Manages short-term cash requirements of the companies.

Assist the CFO in the preparation of the annual budget.

Special projects, reports and analysis, as required.

Primary Objectives of the Role:
The Controller will be accountable for establishing accounting and reporting policies and procures, with a focus on building efficient and scalable accounting solutions. In addition, the position manages compliance accounting and reporting for payroll, sales and use, excise, personal property and income taxes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Broad knowledge and experience in agricultural production and distribution, or a related industry.

Demonstrated ability to build effective and powerful business processes through technology.

Demonstrated ability to build capable, loyal accounting teams.

General knowledge of online collaboration tools (Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.) and video conference technology tools (Google Hangout, Skype, GoToMeeting, etc.)

Expertise in Quickbooks Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have practical experience working on software integration projects.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Unquestionable integrity.

Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business

4 to 8 years of relevant accounting management with both operational and corporate experience including at least 3 years’ experience as a controller

CPA, preferred
