Curaleaf NY (subsidiary of Palliatech, Inc.) is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. We are seeking an experienced Transportation and Delivery Driver, for a fast-growing company to provide support to the organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a pleasant work environment ensuring elevated levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
Drivers will be responsible for transporting all products between the manufacturing and dispensary facilities as well as transporting products for home deliveries. Additional responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Providing break time relief for other production departments or assume Rover responsibilities for other functions while on site at the manufacturing facility and not actively engaged in a shipping and delivery duties;
- Conducting visual and physical inspections of receiving areas at dispensary facilities while on site and not actively engaged in a delivery. Tours and inspections will be consistent with the requirements of those defined for the manufacturing facility and other requirements as defined herein; and
- Conducting vehicle screening and manage vehicle maintenance.
- As product transport and distribution specialists, TDs deliver product orders to designated agents of dispensing organization in keeping with New York regulations. DSs report to the Supply Chain Director and Logistics Manager as well as work closely with the Facilities Manager, Production Teams, and Inventory Specialist.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Picking up product orders to dispensaries and authorized patients for delivery and returns.
- To understand and follow all rules and regulations set forth by NY state for delivery of Medical Marijuana.
- To understand and follow all SOP’s related to job duties.
- To understand and follow all GMP’s for safe and sanitary medication.
- Transporting deliveries safely and securely.
- Delivering and registering receipt of product shipments by authorized agents of dispensary organizations.
- Delivering and registering receipt of product shipments by authorized patients.
- Maintaining accurate inventory, transport and distribution records.
- Quality control for the position and the Delivery Team.
- Operate vehicles within all state and local guidelines
- Load or unload cases of product manually, with assistance of hand truck if needed.
- Ensure load is properly secured before moving vehicle.
- To communicate any security or safety concerns to Logistics/Security teams as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent driving record.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) qualification.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to represent the company professionally when making customer deliveries.
- Knowledge of operation of power/mobile equipment.
- Geographical knowledge of the delivery service area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking and secure communications technologies is strongly preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma; 1-year experience in related field required.
Basic Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience working in warehouse/logistics in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Experience in the delivery of small packages preferred.
- Experience with an Inventory Management Systems preferred.
- Experience working with and transporting controlled substances preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and self-sufficient worker
