Job Summary:

Kush Bottles is looking for a Training and Compliance Specialist focused on training our hazardous material handlers and drivers. Additionally, they will ensure each site is operating in compliance to federal and local regulations and Kush standard operating procedures. They will also ensure our hazardous material drivers have the proper credentials and are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Procure and maintain Kush hazardous material vehicle fleet. They will work on improving processes and help foster a safe and more productive team.

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the on-boarding and orientation of all Hazmat drivers for the Kush Energy division
  • Assist HR and new drivers with all new hire paperwork and certifications
  • Communicate with Operations Managers and Directors to recommend opportunities for ongoing training and compliance updates
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and maintain driver DOT logs
  • Establish and maintain driver database of credentials to ensure certifications are current
  • Procure and maintain vehicles ensuring proper and timely preventative maintenance
  • Provide backup coverage across the country for hazardous material drivers and handlers
  • Conduct regular reviews of performance and compliance with drivers across the country
  • Understanding and familiarity with different types of gases, blends, solvents, and materials provided by Kush for extraction methods

Necessary Special Requirements

The following conditions must be met and maintained in order to be employed and to continue employment at Kush Bottles in this position:

  • May be required to pass a controlled substance test (i.e. drug test), and D.O.T physical through our medical provider, as well as random and post-accident drug and alcohol screening
  • Must be willing to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours and work overtime including weekends and holidays
  • Must provide the supervisor with a telephone number where you can be reached for the purposes of responding to an emergency

Education/training/experience:

  • 5+ years' experience
  • Active CDL, class A or B with Hazmat endorsement
  • Forklift certification
  • Previous roles in training and development a plus
  • Prior experience in a Hazardous Materials driving/delivery role
  • Clean and dependable personal driving record
  • Awareness and understanding regarding all regulatory laws surrounding proper handling of applicable hazardous materials

Knowledge of:

  • Hydrocarbon gases, solvents, and materials as requested by customers and provided by Kush Bottles
  • Basic principles when it comes to cash management and recordkeeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email capabilities to review, respond, and provide key documentation to other parties

Physical Standards:

  • This position requires frequently sitting/driving in truck for long stretches of time
  • Operating a Hazardous Materials truck with lift gate
  • Handling of 100-180 lbs. gas tanks/cylinders in terms of moving them on/off truck
  • Operation of pallet jack at times and as needed by customers/warehouse facility
