Summary
The Tissue Culture Technician will be part of a well-coordinated production team and will be responsible for culturing cannabis plants in an aseptic environment for commercial production. The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a tightly controlled, state regulated system and timelines.
Essential Functions

- Perform aseptic micropropagation methodologies for mass scale clone production.
- Collect nodal stem samples for use in micro-propagation of cannabis.
- Prepare and culture nodal stem samples.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of project data and other materials as needed, maintain inventory records, and regulatory compliance.
- Operation of laboratory equipment in a safe manner.
- Assure cleanliness and organization of glassware, plastic ware, and other supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a commercial horticulture environment. This role routinely uses sharp instruments and is exposed to hot material and surfaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, tight corners and work spaces. Extensive sitting while working in a laminar flow hood. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers and pollen producing environment. Work time expectation: 80% of time will be spent transferring plants in a laminar flow hood, 15% record keeping and general lab work, 5% training and misc.

Some examples are: Working with your hands for extended periods of time, some work with hands above head, sitting down for an extended period of time, and working in noisy environment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. The employee may be asked to work weekends as needed.
Travel
Travel to other facilities may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Basic math skills.
- High school Diploma.
- Bachelor's Degree or Horticultural Technical Certification.
- Prior commercial agricultural experience.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, ability to follow protocols, willingness to learn new skills, and detail oriented.
- Prior experience with sterile technique and maintaining plant tissue culture material.
- Working familiarity with the maintenance and archiving of laboratory documents, SOP's including electronic record keeping, and electronic inventory management.
- Thorough understanding of State and local medical cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of the company.
- Effective time-management skills and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.

- Must be able to work in a safety aware environment.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
There is no visa or H1-B sponsorship. Must successful complete and pass background and drug screen, and live scan.
