Mac & Fulton Talent Partners is looking for a knowledgeable, detail oriented, and ambitious Technical Sales Manager for industry leading hydroponics products company. Our client is internationally established in the hydroponics and controlled environmental agriculture industries. They offer cutting-edge technological solutions for modern horticulture operations ranging from vertical farming to greenhouse cultivation. Our client’s product base includes solutions for PH monitoring, water quality testing, environmental controls, fertigation, and smart grow room technology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop business in commercial cultivation operations relating to cannabis cultivation, urban agriculture, vertical farming, controlled environment agriculture.
- Oversee Technical Sales Program in the United States – create sales SOP’s, etc.
- Gain an expert understanding of company product base.
- Maintain a strong and respected presence in the cannabis and controlled environment agriculture industries – focusing specifically on commercial production.
- Utilize technical understanding of horticultural process to explain product benefits to customers, both short and long term.
- Identify customer needs relating to horticultural operations and sell solutions to said needs.
- Remain up-to-speed on horticultural technology advancements.
- Maintain a highly organized and easy to communicate workflow.
- Work closely with marketing teams to establish market plans relating to specific product launches and seasonal horticulture demands.
- Train existing sales teams to facilitate a technical understanding of product base as well as modern horticultural processes and applications.
- Teach sales teams technical sales processes and effective communication.
- Create new sales channels through partnerships with companies - such as commercial greenhouse contractors.
- Report directly to the CEO on sales processes and technical sales training.
Qualifications:
- BA in Horticulture, Biology, or similar field.
- Ability to travel, sometimes frequently (50-60%).
- Understanding of current cannabis / CEA marketplaces in the U.S. and beyond.
- Well versed in product development and new market entry.
- Experience in consultative sales processes.
- 5 years of experience in a hydroponics / horticulture products sales position.

Relevant Sales Backgrounds: horticultural lighting, commercial greenhouses, nutrients and grow substrates, atmospheric controllers, water filtration, smart grow technology.
