MJ Freeway LLC is looking for a knowledgeable, detail-orientated, and motivated Cannabis Industry Technical and Application Writer. This position will work in our Professional Services Team and report to the Director of Professional Services. The Professional Services Department is a brilliant, tight-knit group that provides clients with award-winning application services and management consulting.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit policies, processes, and procedures
- Map business processes for process improvement initiatives and gap analysis
- Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to support team objectives, accuracy of manuals/plans, and content
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts to write and organize original content and revise/rewrite existing content for all types of documentation projects
- Conduct research and Subject Matter Expert interviews to draft content
- Conduct cross-department reviews to determine down-line effects and obtain internal and regulatory compliance approvals
- Follow Document Control Procedures
- Conduct peer edits as necessary
- Coordinate projects with project managers
- Track change requests and conduct regular reviews
Experience/Education:
- 3+ years of professional writing experience, including applications, RFP proposals, business plans, and SOPs
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical communications, or equivalent experience
- Experience in all aspects of planning, designing, implementing, testing, and delivering a documentation project
- Proficiency in the entire MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Required: Advanced formatting skills in MS Word, including: margin and tab manipulation for consistent presentation, a firm grasp on how to utilize styles (including modifying the settings within a respective style i.e. setting consistent indentation, paragraph spacing, font size, numbering), and a strong eye for sophisticated document layout.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Law degree, or professional experience conducting legal research that is developed into written content
- 3+ professional experience of federal grant writing, proposal writing, or drafting responses to RFPs
- In-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry
