Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for development and deployment of recruiting plans for our growing Nevada and California operations. This role will be tasked with employing traditional sourcing strategies and developing new, creative recruiting ideas to attract and retain top talent for all levels of the organization. The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent for both current and future roles. An essential element of this position is the ability to be proactive and keep a finger on the pulse.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for interviewing, testing and referring applicants for production, retail, clerical, technical, administrative and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Partners with hiring managers to determine current and projected staffing needs.
  • Processes job requisitions.
  • Coordinates with hiring managers to determine best recruiting process for their positions.
  • Acts as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies.
  • Coordinates appropriate employment testing.
  • Extends verbal and written job offers to all candidates.
  • Coordinates background checks, where applicable.
  • Maintains internal application process and the employee referral program.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements using job sites such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Craig’s List, etc.
  • Participates in proactive recruiting efforts such as maintaining a presence at industry events and job fairs
  • Screens resumes and determines applicant qualifications by conducting initial interviews by phone or in person; analyzing responses; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Maintain an extensive database of candidates available as needs arise.
  • Makes hiring and staffing recommendations to company hiring managers.
  • Arranges secondary interviews and other follow-on activities by coordinating schedules and securing resources.
  • Follows up on the interview process status; sends out appropriate follow up correspondence.
  • Manages recruitment process and tracks candidates along the way.
  • Assist with orientation of new employees.
  • Maintains relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved.
  • Stays current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Manage changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Completes weekly reports and metrics on recruiting activity.
  • May on occasion be required to travel overnight to support various events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • 2 + Years of experience in a corporate or agency recruiting role.
  • Skilled at managing 25+ Requisitions simultaneously.
  • Experience as a Generalist highly desired
  • Ability to Recruit for all positions, including entry-level, management and professional positions.
  • Knowledge of California, Nevada and Federal laws surrounding interviewing and hiring.
  • Savvy on Social Media recruitment strategies.
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry highly preferred.
  • Intermediate MS Office including Excel and Word.
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) skills required; Paylocity experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel to our Las Vegas locations on occasion (less than 25%).

Soft Skills:

  • Self-Driven, ability to exercise judgment and work independently.
  • Ability to spend extensive amounts of time on the phone interacting with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must be a good connector, who loves to meet new people and knows how to use every opportunity to network and to turn it into business results.
