Job Description:

Our client is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Manager will lead the business’s national recruiting efforts to support the business’s growth while maintaining its culture and quality standards.

Located in Wakefield, MA, this hands-on position will implement strategic talent acquisition tactics and lead the recruiting function, strategies, and processes in order to find opportunities for improvement. Critical to achieving excellent results, is the ability of the Talent Acquisition Manager to build strong relationships and deliver results in a rapidly and constantly evolving environment. The person will oversee full-cycle recruitment to attract and retain top-tier talent to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs, create job descriptions for positions in cultivation, manufacturing and processing, and dispensaries
  • Support teams in field who are recruiting
  • Develop national candidate pools for different types of positions including in agriculture, CPG, and manufacturing
  • Post open positions and source passive candidates through multiple avenues
  • Perform in-person and phone interviews with candidates
  • Make recommendations and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Manage the interview process and keep the team updated on status
  • Perform reference and background checks
  • Stay current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
  • Complete timely reports on employment activity
  • Drive a culture of constant improvement, identifying, and implementing projects in order to increase business-wide recruiting effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stay on top of hiring trends in markets where we are located, in anticipation of the business’s response to labor market changes, for example, shortages and surpluses of available labor.
  • Develop strategies and processes that utilize both traditional and modern/current/innovative sources in order to uncover all possible talent pools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of related experience in recruiting
  • Experience providing talent acquisition strategy and execution for large, high-volume manufacturing companies/retail stores
  • Experience recruiting for a variety of positions/levels
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Articulate, effective communication skills; ability to inspire and energize
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and coaching skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
