Sweet Cannabis is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to supplement the activities of the Supply Chain Manager at their Portland, Oregon facility. The Coordinator will work closely with Senior Level Management across business lines in the purchasing and procuring of supplies, as well as supplier and vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and will work collaboratively using effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help optimize overall performance of the procurement function.
Job Description:
Shipping/Receiving and Logistics:
- Assist in scheduling and management of all shipments and pickups to ensure on time and cost-effective delivery;
- Generate shipping documents (Packing lists, UPS, FedEx, etc.) and properly process in ERP system; Inspect all outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy;
- Evaluate current and potential new carriers and freight forwarders to find the best solutions for Sweet Cannabis and its customers; and
- Manage incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Purchasing Coordination:
- Assist with sourcing, negotiating and purchasing parts and components;
- Conduct price research and comparison and present findings to Supply Chain Manager;
- Collaborate with sales and distribution teams to ensure optimal supply chain solutions;
- Generate and update purchase orders as needed;
- Liaise with other organizational business units to coordinate orders, deliveries, and documents with local and international suppliers; and
- Monitor preparedness for receiving incoming shipments.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in coordinating and quality control aspects of production and assembly;
- Assist Supply Chain Manager in qualification and inspection of received parts and components, record and track in ERP system; and
- Monitor product and packaging inventory control, assist with order fulfillments, and help resolve material shortages to ensure all production schedules are met. Ensure inventory minimum and maximum levels are followed, documented and maintained.
General Support:
- Conduct regular and ongoing state regulatory research and communicate findings to Supply Chain Manager;
- Assist Supply Chain Manager in administration regarding state regulatory packaging approvals, file procurements, regulatory changes and coordinate packing materials with existing suppliers and vendors;
- Assist in general supply chain process development;
- Coordinate and schedule communications between Supply Chain Manager and vendor/suppliers as necessary; and
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Oregon cannabis industry and culture, policies and state regulations;
- Good understanding of hardware specifications, manufacturing procedures and quality control;
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations and industry standard programs/systems.
Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite applications. Metrc experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to adapt in a dynamic and changing environment;
- Strong communication, oral and written, and negotiation skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to self-motivate, multi-task and prioritize parallel projects and activities with accuracy and efficiency;
- Ability to follow strict instruction and adhere to safety guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures; and
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Other Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field;
- Must be minimum of 21 years of age;
- Must possess a valid OLCC Cannabis Handler card or be able to obtain one within 4 weeks of hire;
- 2 years’ experience in supply chain coordination with international vendors/factories. Experience dealing with China considered an asset;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Experience in the Oregon cannabis industry considered an asset.
