Staff Accountant

Grassroots is one of four license holders in Vermont and as such we are uniquely positioned for market leadership. We are currently looking for a self-motivated, data driven individual to join the accounting team as a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing a wide variety of accounting duties in the finance department. You must be able to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a larger team. The position requires a willingness to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable (Vendor setup & maintenance, transaction entry/processing
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Enter daily sales, and journal entries to general ledger
• Maintain construction, cost, and capitalization schedules
• Assisting in monthly, quarterly and annul report closing
• Prepare documentation for external auditors

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting or related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required
• Highly proficient in Word and Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Manufacturing experience an asset
