Job Summary

Kush Bottles is looking for a Staff Accountant, focused on supporting the Financial Reporting and FP&A Team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant with complying to internal monthly financial reporting demands, as well as SEC quarterly and annual reporting demands. The Staff Accountant will also assist in future value-added reporting including financial planning and analysis.

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparing journal entries
  • Performing general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Creating and maintaining periodic reporting
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting future company financial performance

Education/training/experience:

  • 0-2 years' experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Accounting software knowledge preferred (NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Detailed oriented

Knowledge of:

  • This role requires basic general ledger skills conceptual and application skills
  • Ability to adapt in high paced working environment
  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Perform various complex general ledger account analyses and reconciliations
  • Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepares closing journal entries, posts accrual entries, and prepares financial statements

  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation
  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key
  • Able to participate in the environments standing, moving onsite at events and tradeshows
  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials.
  • Constantly sitting, standing, walking, and operating a computer workstation.
  • This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting.
  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key.
  • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less.
