POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain helps to manage the entire inventory function of Zenco, which includes, sourcing, purchasing, along with overall inventory control and movement of raw materials, work in process, packaging supplies, and finished goods in and out of the plant. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining solid working relationships with customers, vendors, service providers, and across the organization to fulfill customer orders and meet expected delivery dates and service level requirements.
The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain liaises with other procurement personnel, the plant warehouse team, and each stocking location within the company and is, at the outset, directly responsible for proper inventory levels and material availability to sustain production and installation activities at the factory level. As the role evolves, this position will also have responsibilities that include finished goods inventories and final delivery to customers. An important objective of this role will be to procure materials and balance inventories such that the company meets internal financial objectives for Material COGS and Working Capital.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish, measure, and report KPI’s relating to supply chain materials management. Manage and control expenditures and variances
- Co-direct distribution requirements planning for financial estimating, transportation planning, warehousing efficiency, and labor planning
- Co-develop, implement, and ensure adherence to policies and SOP’s relating to the materials and inventory groups. Provides analytics for operations team on matters regarding material forecast and delivery to meet production schedule
- Provides forecast to finance organization to assist in forecasting material costs and cash needs
- Directs sourcing activities, vendor relations, purchase order placement, and inventory analytics
- Provides management reporting of inventory status
- Develops and maintains a vendor returns process, and later a customer returns process
TACTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver products and services to meet customer’s needs. Create rolling forecasts to be used for ordering and inventory management purposes
- Manages incoming materials and leverage JIT deliveries that support product schedules
- Direct the processes of identifying, minimizing, liquidating, or disposing of obsolete inventory. Plan, lead, and successfully execute year-end inventory
- Understand and drive continuous improvements to the processes and output of master resources planning, capacity management, and advanced planning system
- Develop materials storage and delivery processes, supportive of manufacturing operations. Ensures proper maintenance of MRP system data (not yet implemented)
- Identify and reduce (or eliminate) waste in the areas of materials management
- Ensures inventory levels are appropriate working inventory levels to minimize cost of working capital and management of warehouse space
- Directs interaction with suppliers in support of supply chain and procurement issues. Negotiate pricing and terms. Identify potential alternate suppliers. Conduct site visits with key and alternate suppliers. Develop supplier scorecards and metrics
- Analyzes inventory to determine root causes of non-working inventory; ensures timely disposition and established policy/process changes which result in continuous improvement of working vs. non-working inventory
- Manages supplier corrective actions as necessary
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, materials management, logistics or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Proven ability to gain “buy-in” amongst multiple departments and peers
- Demonstrated ability to influence in cross-functional situations
- Keen analytical skills, advanced Excel experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in planning, procurement, customer service, and/or materials management
- Dependable, highly motivated hands-on analyst who thrives in a “self-driven” environment
- Manufacturing experience required along with deep knowledge of SAP
- Strong working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
- Consensus builder; an assertive yet reasonable individual with presence
- The candidate will also possess knowledge of packaging
- The position requires an organized individual, who is a problem solver and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities
- The candidate must possess strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
- The candidate must have ability to be flexible/manage change and work well under pressure
- Candidate must demonstrate integrity and dedication have a positive work attitude and strong work ethic
