Job Description

The Social Media Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s social media strategy and execution. The Social Media Manager will play an integral role in bringing our newly developed brand portfolio strategy to life (corporate, product and retail dispensary brands) through owned channels.

The Social Media Manager will work with the Marketing team and PR agency to create social initiatives that increase brand awareness, engagement and loyalty across PharmaCann’s target audiences. This role will also manage the online reputation for all three brands.

The Social Media Manager will be self-motivated, creative, a continuous learner and have a strong record of producing results in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on current industry practices, trends and audience preferences
  • Develop and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Manage content calendar generating timely, relevant and impactful content across social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
  • Set specific objectives and report on social media ROI
  • Develop, implement and optimize campaigns and promotions
  • Have working knowledge of social media management scheduling, automation, and social listening tools such as Sprout Social or HootSuite
  • Identify and work with social media influencers to increase brand awareness and visibility
  • Design social media graphics or capture images and video for content usage
  • Write engaging and SEO-friendly blog content
  • Regularly update team on insights gained from social media monitoring to help evolve marketing strategies in a timely fashion
  • Provide organizational guidelines for employees needing to communicate via social media to maintain brand message consistency
  • Leverage measurement tools to provide progress reports and mine insights, while continually finding ways to improve those metrics through testing and development of new strategies and tactics
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media and other owned media channels
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in social media/content management/reputation management
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing
  • B2B and B2C experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate insights into actionable plans
  • Team player but can also work well independently
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry and company
  • Curiosity and initiative to explore and learn
