High Times Media, the most iconic brand in marijuana, is seeking a Social Media Editor overseeing all high-level strategy and operations of our social media, email promotion, and partnerships network. In addition to making High Times’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter “must-follow” properties, the Social Media Editor will analyze audience data and reporting, relaying those learnings to the editorial and video teams to shape and improve High Times’ content strategy. A successful candidate will not only know what’s trending on social media but will have hundreds of ideas for how to write a post that is engaging and optimized to jump on the trend. The Social Media Editor will handle a variety of tasks ranging from executing Facebook Live streams, cultivating our base of strong cannabis influencers, and interacting with our fans minute-to-minute.
Responsibilities:
Manage and execute partnerships and syndication in our network of more than 50 publishing partners
Manage post times and frequency of all incoming social content, scheduling content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest
Collaborate with editorial and video teams to dissect posts and continually improve the quality of High Times content on social media
Track trending news and internet moments and find creative ways for High Times to be a part of the conversation
Keep up with relevant social media news, updates, tools, platforms, and best practices
Identify new and emerging publications for prospective partnerships
Run A/B tests and boosts on selective posts
Interact with users, answering any questions and engaging in discussion when appropriate
Build social franchises and recurring series that are High Times' equivalent to #CollegeIn5Words, #bemorehuman, or #eeeeeats
