Job Description

Have A Heart CC is a rapidly growing cannabis company in the Seattle metropolitan

area that needs a creative and organized social media expert to join our growing

marketing department. The social media coordinator will need to interact virtually with

targeted demographics to promote our products and brand. To this end, we need

someone who is a devoted professional, but who is also familiar enough with cannabis

culture to communicate our brand’s appeal to both occasional users and those steeped

in the culture. Considering the nature of the industry, the social media coordinator

must also be flexible and capable of adapting to conflicting marketing regulations across

multiple jurisdictions. We need someone who can navigate these obstacles while still

creating unique and engaging content across multiple platforms.

Social Media Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain company social media pages and profiles
  • Build a social media plan and execute the strategy through research,

benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification

  • Write, develop, and strategize online content production and scheduling
  • Assist with crisis management, bad reviews, and negative news

communications

  • In-depth knowledge of the cannabis culture and cannabis applications, such

as Leafly and Weedmaps.

  • Generate, edit, publish, and share content daily across multiple platforms

(original text, images, video, and HTML)

  • Build meaningful connections and encourage community members through

dialog and messaging

  • Moderate user-generated content and messages appropriately, based on

company and community policies

  • Track and analyze analytics reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics,

and effectiveness

  • Collaborate with other departments to manage company reputation,

coordinate promotions, and increase brand recognition.

Social Media Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism, marketing or related field strongly

preferred. Exceptional candidates will still be considered.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in digital marketing and social media
  • Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms

(Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Knowledge of project management and web design best practices
  • Working proficiency with Google Analytics, SEO and other analytical tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
