Job Description

The Supply Planner will create production or fulfillment plans of medium complexity with little oversight. The plans developed by the Supply Planner support the forecasted demand while maintaining adequate levels of inventory across the network. The planner will ensure the manufacturing sites or distribution centers are aligned to production and fulfillment plans and communicate supply constraints back to the organization.

The Supply Planner develops weekly/ monthly supply plans as an input to the S&OP process. The Supply Planner may be tasked with leading or participating in supply chain projects as required. The Supply Planner will report directly into the Manager, Supply Planning.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review and revise production and fulfillment plans as required by changes in the sales forecast or manufacturing schedules
  • Act as a liaison between Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, & Marketing and functions, communicating and troubleshooting issues, problems and concerns
  • Continuously review the shipments vs. forecast and tactically adjust plans as needed.
  • Work with distribution partners as required supporting warehouse capacity and resource planning.
  • Assist in expediting production or inventory receipts, when necessary, to support customer order fulfillment in tight supply or out of stock situations.
  • Provide assistance to management/departments on matters related to production or fulfillment planning and forecasting. Effectively participate in and/or lead supply chain projects to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Keeps up on standards, regulations/laws and issues with respect to product quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or similar field required. Additional coursework or seminars in production planning.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a supply planning / scheduling / fulfillment role (preferably for a manufacturer of consumer products) using ERP & Planning systems is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze increasingly complex datasets in Excel at an intermediary level is required.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Some experience leading projects.
  • ERP/MRP Systems Planning experience highly preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible as required and communicate proactively with internal and external partners
