Summary

The Senior Scientist, Product Development and Applications-Inhalers will be hands-on and be directly responsible to ideate, develop and commercialize new state of the art science based Vaporization(Vape) pen formulations for MedMen retail stores, collaborate with cross functional teams to rapidly develop and sensory test novel consumer relevant products that will mainstream marijuana usage, ensure formulations are robust for internal and/or external manufacturing, provide recommendations for bench top pilot plant equipment for a variety of Vape pen applications and processes, identify external suppliers and partners for a variety of Inhalers forms, formats and packaging options

Essential Functions

Ideate and rapidly develop protocepts and prototypes that align with MedMen’s strategy and pipeline plan.
Create robust vape pen formulations to deliver new and novel inhaler products which exceed consumer expectations and provide a consistent user experience.
Participate in stage gate process, e.g. Product Development Briefs, used to align on product deliverables.
Provide recommendations for processes and equipment to develop and verify formulations within R&D lab.
Effectively utilize PLM system to develop and archive in house formulations.
Proactively create and present new protocept forms and formats that align with MedMen’s strategy.
Provide governance and technical support to satellite R&D locations at manufacturing facilities.
Effectively collaborate with external partners and suppliers to develop new and novel inhaler delivery systems.
Proactively identify contract manufacturers and suppliers that can rapidly prototype and commercialize new inhaler products.
Create and file IP for new and novel formulas and/or processes.

Proven track record for developing and commercialization robust vape pen and other inhalation formulas for new and novel products

Strong technical acumen in the area of inhaler development

Travel

20-30% travel

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology, Chemistry or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

7+ years experience in Inhaler/Pharmaceutical/Cannabis sector

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (certifications, etc.)

Strong knowledge of cGMP’s and GLP’s

Applicable safety and labeling requirements
