What You Will Be Doing:
As a Senior Producer at Leafly, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and run one of the most exciting video opportunities in the media industry. You are an experienced producer, with a background telling compelling stories across a range of subjects. You are resourceful, rarely flummoxed, and an expert communicator. You understand the importance of a brand’s business priorities, and can take those points and craft them into a compelling narrative. You have a vast network of freelancers, and are as comfortable overseeing their work from afar as you are managing an in-house production team. You need very little oversight and guidance, and know what needs to be done to produce a consistently high-quality product with every project.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Producer is responsible for overseeing the production of editorial and branded video at Leafly
- The right candidate will have a very strong production background combined with the technical skillet to operate and manage everything from camera equipment to complex server infrastructure
- This is a position for a highly-organized, highly-dedicated candidate who is interested in working in one of the fastest-growing areas of our business
- Work directly with sales, account management and video teams, representing the interests of both our video production team and the client to produce the best content possible
- Hire freelancers and manage work distribution between freelance and full-time staff to assemble a team of people who can successfully put together a quality production
- Develop relationships with talent, including on camera talent, directors, producers, and writers
- Develop and maintain relationships with commercial studios in various markets across the United States
- Oversee, allocate, and manage quarterly to yearly video production budget
- Work with other video and content leaders to balance business goals, data, budget and the needs of the team to develop video strategy. Constantly adapt and evolve the strategy to best meet business objectives
- Work closely with directors and writers at concept and early script writing stage to ensure we're developing quality content within our production bounds
- Pitch show ideas to external partners, sponsors, production companies and other third party vendors
- Work with other video leaders to develop long form ideas including being involved in pitches, presentations, developing creative, budgets and show structure
- Develop early production systems around branded and editorial campaigns, overseeing video podcast and live branded projects
- Point person between sales/client and video team. - Ensuring production runs smoothly, being present when clients are present, etc
- Manage full-time staff of producers, directors, and post, as well as freelancers including hiring and performance management/ coaching
- Communicate with senior management team to help develop a positive company culture and profitable business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
- 5+ years in as a content producer in studio operations, television production, and/or field production experience
- 4+ years in a production management role preferred
- Deep and demonstrable knowledge of video production, digital channels and digital media required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast-moving environment
- Effective time management skills are critical for success in this position
- Previous experience managing a team (internal and external) and budget
- Experience managing production process through brief, pre/post, and distribution
- Complex problem-solving ability and always solution-oriented
- Strong operational sense and attention to detail
