Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager will be primarily responsible for digital marketing including website development and maintenance, SEO, paid advertising, email marketing and e-commerce support. Other responsibilities include supporting the Director of Marketing as needed with brand development, product marketing, advertising/media, wholesale sales support and CRM/loyalty program. This role will be a key contributor to the organization’s marketing strategy and integrated marketing plans to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition and retention and revenue for both our retail dispensary and wholesale businesses.
The successful candidate will have a deep background in digital marketing but also have a strong acumen across the marketing mix spectrum. As a rapidly growing start-up, the Senior Marketing Manager will need to be adaptable wearing multiple hats and have a can-do attitude. It is critical that the candidate have a proven record of producing results in fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environments.
As a Senior Marketing Manager you will:
- Serve as the organization’s digital expert leading all digital marketing activities; must be knowledgeable of emerging technologies, trends and analytical tools.
- Be responsible for online inquiry and demand generation of patients and adult-use customers through conversion optimization and for customer retention by providing effective digital communications and targeted offers.
- Manage website development, optimization and best-in-class user experience including mobile for retail dispensary and product websites; provide technical guidance to corporate website team.
- Be responsible for SEO - this is a critical function as search engines do not allow paid search/ads by cannabis companies.
- Manage paid display, native content and web video
- Develop email marketing strategy for acquisition and current retail and wholesale customers including drip campaigns; implement SMS program.
- Implement and optimize testing platforms and protocols
- Manage digital agency relationship.
- Work with Creative Services and Communications teams on development of creative/content.
- Participate in enterprise-wide technology audit and assessment recommending CRM, loyalty and marketing systems platforms and integration.
- Establish and track key performance indicators to measure and report effectiveness and ROI of digital marketing.
- Work closely with Social Media Manager on integrating efforts through social media.
- Provide marketing support for development and maintenance of e-commerce platform.
- In collaboration with Director of Marketing and Operations team, develop CRM and loyalty program and manage targeted offers and communications.
- Support Director of Marketing on product marketing including new product development, branding and promotions as needed.
- As needed, assist with brand development, traditional advertising and media activities.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with minimum 5 years of digital marketing experience; start-up experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer sciences or other related fields.
- Experience with Google Analytics/Tag Manager required; Drupal and MailChimp preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional project management and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Team player but can also work well independently.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry and company.
