We are currently looking for a Sr. Accountant for our headquarters in Santa Barbara to join our team.
What you’ll be doing:
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for and take ownership over the entire intercompany transaction process from assessing and configuring the processes, implementing controls, and setting up the system within QBE, and tentatively our future ERP system. Primary responsibilities will include prepping and recording monthly intercompany transactions to ensure all proper transactions occurs between the different entities. The Sr. Accountant will be building the process from the ground up when they come into the seat.
As the Senior Accountant you will:
- Ability to assist with the assessment of transaction flow within an ERP system to ensure best practices are adopted
- Be able to assist with the assessment of intercompany transaction flow and development of process flow
- Implement controls, process, and procedures for the intercompany accounting workflow
- Implement accounting procedures within QBE and other accounting systems
- Support with data migration for tentative accounting system migration
- Assist the Controller in ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
- Prepare and record monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure all proper transactions occurred between entities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Assist with quarterly producer commission reports analyzing and correcting discrepancies
- Protects organizations’ value by keeping information confidential
- Assist with the production of payroll by initiating computer processing printing checks, verifying the finished product.
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Be able to problem solve within a team environment
Your experience and skills include:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experiencing creating process and implementing controls
- Strong background in intercompany accounting
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with Quickbooks Enterprise or other accounting software
- Experience working with ERP systems a plus
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
