We are currently looking for a Sr. Accountant for our headquarters in Santa Barbara to join our team.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Sr. Accountant will be working closely with the Controller to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions. Primary responsibilities will include preparing and recording monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure all proper transactions occurred between entities.
As the Senior Accountant you will:
Assist the Controller with ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
Prepare and record monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure all proper transactions occurred between entities.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances
Assist with financial and tax audits
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Assist with quarterly producer commission reports analyzing and correcting discrepancies
Protects organizations’ value by keeping information confidential
Assist with the production of payroll by initiating computer processing printing checks, verifying finished product.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Your experience and skills include:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
Proficiency with Quickbooks Enterprise or other accounting software
Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
