Job Description:

Iron Protection Group, a General Cannabis company, is searching for a Director of Operations for the California market. This position will be responsible for management and development of IPG security programs and workforce; planning, directing and monitoring the implementation of security systems, plans and contracts for protection of commercial organizations; managing and maintaining client relations; responsible for hiring, training and supervising of employees.

Iron Protection Group was founded in 2014, headquartered in Denver, CO, and is the premier security provider for the cannabis industry.

Duties and responsibilities

Client Management –

Design, develop, implement and manage physical security operations for the client including post orders, standards, policies and procedures
Maintain close coordination, planning, communication and regular direct liaison with the client and around all aspects of physical security, safety, investigations and risk management programs
Responsible for identifying areas of program improvement, expansions of service, and customer service improvements
Create measurable reporting process to include alarm monitoring, incident response, tracking and reporting of performance metrics and other service areas
Oversee contractual obligations and manage billing
Respond in a timely manner to emergent events, issues, staffing deficiencies and client requests
Maintain relationships with Federal, State and Local law enforcement and other government agencies

Staffing Management –

Manage guard force operations including budget management and performance metrics
Responsible for recruiting and hiring efforts, including conducting guard interviews and candidate selection
Schedules new hire onboarding and training
Directly responsible for hiring, training and counseling of IPG employees
Initiate preliminary investigations and write incident reports on all internal personnel issues and complete proper documentation
Forecasts and communicates staffing needs and projects overtime expenses
Manages reporting tools, such as Destiny software
Reconciles employee’s daily timecards
Oversees and verifies weekly schedules

Compliance –

Maintain Qualifying Manager status per BSIS requirements

Stays up-to-date on all regulatory issues in the security and cannabis industries
Ensures employees are properly licensed and trained

Maintains safe work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

Oversees site books for each client

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in California
Minimum 2 years of leading or managing a workforce
Must have current BSIS exposed firearms permit and qualified manager certification
Self-starter with ability to work independently
High degree of work-ethic and integrity

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, criminal justice, or related field
Active duty military experience
Experience in the cannabis industry
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to provide meaningful feedback to subordinates
Excellent reporting skills
Ability to learn and use multiple computer programs
