They are a full-service testing laboratory offering a one-stop solution where cannabis cultivators and distributors can ensure that they are in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and directing the scientific methods of the lab
- Ensuring that the laboratory achieves and maintains a laboratory quality assurance program as required by section 5729 of this division
- Scientist will assist lab manager in instrument installation, setup, training, and maintenance
- Develop analytical methods for pesticides, mycotoxins, residual solvents, heavy metals, moisture, and water activity analysis
- Validate respective methods on appropriate instruments (LCMS, GC/MS, ICPMS).
- Prep and run daily lab samples and report within the assigned time frame
- Generate CAPA/OOS as appropriate
- Write and review Standard Operating Protocols
- Aid in the development of new testing methodologies of new products
- Train junior staff on appropriate analyses/instruments
- Help maintain lab Quality Systems
- Assist in achieving and maintaining ISO accreditation
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from a 4 year accredited college or university (preferred)
- Masters Degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from a 4 year accredited college or university, plus at least 2 years of full-time practical experience.
