Summary
The Sanitation Tech 1 (Manufacturing/Plant Operations) will clean and maintain company buildings and grounds (breakroom, bathrooms, locker rooms, production areas, warehouse, offices and any other area designated by management) to ensure Medmen standards of professionalism and cleanliness are adhered to. The Sanitation Tech 1 (Manufacturing/Plant Operations) will professionally represent the MedMen Manufacturing Department in all daily activities.
Essential Functions

- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Contribute to process improvements including recommendations for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Communicate daily and effectively with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
- The ability to read, measure, mix, follow directions and operate cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, floor buffer, vacuum, snow removal equipment,…etc.)
- Attention to detail in all aspects of job responsibilities, including but not limited to general labeling requirements.
- The ability to liaise constructively and effectively with manufacturing support groups including, but not limited to, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Process Sciences, Cultivation, Facility Maintenance, Security as well as contract vendors or equipment start-up and/or maintenance representatives.
- The ability to accurately and precisely operate laboratory scales.
- The ability to professionally represent MedMen in all personnel interactions including those associated with regulatory agency inspection and/or audits.
- The ability to perform all job functions in direct compliance with written instruction.
- The ability to recognize machine normal operating conditions (e.g. sound, temperature, speed, accuracy, smell) and the initiative to take direct action in the event of any equipment anomaly including, machine shut-down, product protection and informing Manufacturing and/or Quality management.
- The ability to quickly comprehend the set-up, operation, controls and trouble-shooting of new machine equipment.
- The ability to interpret in-process and finished product analytical assays.
- The ability to maintain the flexibility required to support MedMen through anticipated continual growth and expansion.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous janitorial experience.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds intermittently throughout the day.
