Sampling Technician

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the emerging and fast paced environment of cannabis laboratory testing. The successful candidate will be a sampling technician for our new headquarters in Santa Ana, and will report directly to the Laboratory Manager. They will be responsible for all steps involved in offsite batch sampling for state mandated compliance tests of cannabis products.

This position requires knowledge of representative batch sampling, specifically the ability to pull a representative sample from a large batch for analysis. Experience with lab techniques and standard-operating procedures for sampling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs offsite representative sampling for California cannabis compliance tests.
• Couriers’ non-compliance samples from customer facilities to the Cannalysis Headquarters.
• Utilizes lab and product knowledge to assist customers in understanding laboratory processes and methods, sampling, and the legal requirements for cannabis testing.
• Assists in modifying and maintaining appropriate SOPs relating to sample testing.
• Perform sample registration, sampling, processing, and delivery.
• Maintains a safe, clean, well organized, and efficient work environment.
• Remains up-to-date on all SOPs and maintains documentation required for compliance.
• Work on projects assigned by lab management and work in collaboration with other technicians.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s or Associates degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour

Experience:

• 1 Year of relevant work experience in representative sampling/ lab processes.

Education:

• Associates Degree
• Bachelors Preferred
