Sales Representative for Cannabis Extract Processor

Reports to the Sales Manager & Director of Operations

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Sales Representative to execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify needs both known and unknown to the customer, and sell appropriate merchandise to meet those needs.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for locating new opportunities for the company by visiting existing and soliciting new customers in assigned region.
  • Sell products to customers to sell and explain features and attributes of product.
  • Has direct contact with people of all levels, both internally and externally, and works with customers’ procurement and engineering groups.
  • Must be responsive to the customers’ needs and follow through in person, verbally by answering calls and emails, and provides information as needed. Duties to include initiating and following up with to sell or resolve problems.
  • Increase sales in respective accounts.
  • Serves as liaison within the general community and represents a positive company image both on and off the clock.
  • Establish buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for assigned accounts.
  • Secure and place orders taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment.
  • Assists customers and arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Collects delinquent accounts.
  • Prepares and calculates product sales, invoicing, returns, and payment-related functions.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department supervisor as needed.
  • Independently seeks and attends seminars, sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends and regulations in both cannabis and sales techniques.
  • Strictly maintains compliance to OLCC rules and state law on the distribution of cannabis and cannabis-related products.
  • Follow inventory protocols to accurately record all movements of inventory in the sales cycle, from checkout of general inventory, sales of merchandise, to the return of unsold product to the safe, on a daily basis.
  • Be accountable for time management and the control of a highly regulated product and cash payments.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Requires the ability to drive and maintain a car in a responsible manner.

Travel

Driving within the state of Oregon.

Physical Demands

The job occasionally requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires the ability to drive a car in a responsible and safe manner. Must possess situational awareness for the security of ones self and for the security during the movement of goods.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but you must be available during must work a minimum of 32 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the cannabis industry is beneficial, but not necessarily required.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate degree or equivalent from college or technical school.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • A valid state driver’s license with no active violations within the previous three years.
  • Have an automobile insurance policy that allows for dual coverage.
  • Must have a Marijuana Workers Permit to apply.
