Sales Manager for Cannabis Creative Agency

The Hybrid Creative is Northern California’s premier creative agency for cannabis and hydroponics ventures. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Sales Manager to help our growing design, development, and marketing firm reach the next level of success.

The Sales Manager role supports our team by continually nurturing new leads and closing new business through innovative sales efforts. Your ultimate responsibility is keeping our production schedule full of happy and enthusiastic clients. You will work with them throughout the sales cycle and clearly manage expectations while conveying the value of the services we provide.

This role supports new sales by responsively and professionally fielding new lead inquiries, qualifying new potential clients, and facilitating project discovery calls. Your responsibility is to manage lead channels, respond within 30 minutes of an inquiry, provide relevant information about our agency and services, and qualify clients to ensure we are a fit for their budget, timeline, and expectations. You will be expected to provide weekly reports recapping the lead source, # of total leads, channel breakdown, and other relevant metrics that provide insight surrounding leads, lead capture, and new sales.

Ideal candidates for this position are confident, organized, and have strong communication skills, and a working knowledge about the cannabis industry. Experience in marketing and social media is preferred, as you will work closely with marketing to discuss strategy to fill the sales funnel with quality leads in line with our agency model.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to leads in a timely fashion
  • Provide information to prospective new clients, services and pricing
  • Qualify new leads, in-line with our agency model, budget, timeline, expectations
  • Provide weekly reports
  • Live proposal follow-up
  • Collaborate with marketing in a monthly meeting for strategy
  • Understand revenue and cash flow trends of the business, including projections and potentials
  • Understand and maintain KPIs to report to Accounting and Owners
  • Generate and maintain reports to determine if company-wide sales goals are being met, what strategies are working, and make suggestions for improvements or change where needed
  • Analyze trends and create sales plans to help ensure consistent cash flow and expand the company’s customer base to ensure its strong presence in the marketplace
  • Meet established sales quota consistently
  • Generate leads and manage the company’s CRM
  • Implement new and innovative methods for increasing overall sales
  • We’re looking for someone who is dynamic and energetic and who brings a drive to improve the sales department out of the gate

  • Understand and report on lead trends, close rates and company-wide sales performance
  • Find new markets to target
  • Visit clients at their places of business or at networking or industry events
  • Run project discovery meetings that define the scope of the prospective project
  • Build quotes and participate in proposal builds for the purpose of closing each deal
  • Maintain relationship with the accounts that become clients (You won’t be asked to be the project manager, just be there to keep them happy when needed.)
  • Maintain and support prioritization of proposals in the pipeline
  • Present upcoming discovery meetings and proposals due at the Monday Morning Stand Up meetings
  • Communicate clearly any support requirements needed to meet your goals
  • Help build the department’s policies and procedures
  • Support the growth and expansion of the business
  • Understand and help accomplish budgetary goals for yourself and the business. Eventually create your own budgets.
  • Understand prioritization of business goals
  • Know how to speak for and represent the company with your own voice
  • Always have the business’ best interests in mind and act accordingly
  • Represent the business at events, mixers, conferences and promotional opportunities, where applicable to sales opportunities

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is passionate and excited about our industry and has the qualities necessary to shine in this position. Your capacity to learn quickly as well as guide the company’s sales department is what we’re after. We expect you to have the following in spades:

  • Clear, applicable work experience in sales
  • A fundamental understanding of sales cycles and strategies
  • Proficiency in CRM software and the Google Apps suite
  • A fundamental understanding of the emerging cannabis industry is a must
  • Demonstrable proficiency in establishing and meeting sales goals

  • You don't need to be a designer or web developer, but you do need to know how to speak the language. Experience in the graphics, marketing, print and web industries is a huge plus and will weigh strongly in our decision, however it’s not required.
  • We're a Mac shop. You should be familiar with current web and social software such as OS X, Google Docs / Sheets, CRM software, social media networks, slack (or other instant messaging), and other office tools.
  • You should be proficient in: word processing, email communication, phone and text protocols, spreadsheets, and other forms of external and internal office communications

Compensation:

This is a full time, salaried position. The first three months will constitute a probationary period. Once we’ve mutually decided that you’re the right person for the job, you can expect to earn competitive benefits including:

  • Medical and dental benefits (50/50)

You will receive a base salary, DOE, with the option of a generous commission on sales over your quota. We will conduct monthly sales reviews and quarterly evaluations. Your earning potential is limited only by the number of projects you close in a quarter.

Commission is paid periodically and based upon the amount and schedule of payment the company receives from your projects.

Working Environment:

You can expect to be surrounded with creatives at the top of their game. Our office is casual yet professional and you can expect to entertain clients that walk in at any time. The Hybrid Creative headquarters is located at the corner of 4th and E in downtown Santa Rosa.

Your office is a very well-lit 2nd story corner space at the front of the office and lined with windows.

Regular office hours are 8:30 - 5:30, however we’re not Big Brother and believe in personal responsibility - while we expect you to put in your 40 hours per week, you decide when is the most effective for your success.

You will be visiting clients and frequently conducting your work outside of the office. You can expect to be in the presence of Marijuana and paraphernalia. While it is legal in California and other states, it is still a Federal Schedule I controlled substance.
