JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective: True Terpenes is seeking a motivated and high-performing individual with a proven track record of medium- to high-volume sales experience to build and oversee our sales division and realize our vision for expansion. This person must be comfortable collaborating, cooperating, and engaging colleagues in a fun working environment where mutual respect, teamwork, ethical behavior, and communication are fundamental to our culture.

The regional sales director position will manage sales activities to achieve high-level organizational goals by performing the duties described herein, or delegating them to the appropriate parties. The successful candidate will have experience in the cannabis/bio-pharmaceutical and tertiary industries to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives by coordinating with our product development, marketing, customer service, and other departments as needed in order to identify sales goals, expand our sales base, establish and maintain robust B2B relationships, and forecast demand in expanding markets.

Essential Functions

  • Work collaboratively with marketing department to develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for sales team accordingly.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Direct channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assign sales territory to sales representatives.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings and events to promote product.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships andnegotiating/closingdeals.
  • Recruit, oversee, and report on the performance of our retail partners, affiliates and distributors.
  • Participate in trade event coordination, staffing, and logistics with marketing team.
  • Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of sales division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Recommend or develop budget, expenditures, and appropriations for sales department.
  • Effectively manage sales budget for department.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team to execute integrated marketing strategy (IMS).
  • Interface regularly with production, sales, e-commerce and other teams as needed.
  • Adhere to sales directives and strategic sales goals.
  • Propose experience-based ideas and logisticalconsiderations/recommendations.
  • Accrue a deep knowledge of products, services and pricing.
  • Engage in ongoing learning about terpenes and related practical uses.
  • Collaborate to ensure deal structures are functional with fulfillment and e-commerce.
  • Monitor sales engagements for signs of new trends in product uses and opportunities.
  • Participate in the proposal, planning, development and execution of the IMS/sales goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly marketing team updates and presentations.
  • Prepare to contribute to regularly scheduled marketing and/or leadership meetings.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. May be required to lift up to 10 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

Travel: This position requires up to 35% travel. Some of the travel is international.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7 years in sales with at least 3 years in the Cannabis Industry.
  • 5 years in a management position leading a large staff of employees.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Knowledge and familiarity with similar products and proven experience in the Industry.
