The primary responsibility of the Lead of Sales & Marketing is to work in collaboration with our operations partners and customers to market our brands and develop and implement joint business plans to grow retailers’ sales by using analysis to identify opportunities, develop action plans, and execute flawlessly.
III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Build rapport and grow sales in existing accounts.
* Acquire new accounts.
* Assume 100% responsibility for account management working in collaboration with our distribution personnel.
* Develop joint business plans in conjunction with retail customers focused on achieving mutually agreed upon retail sales.
* Conduct regular business reviews with customers to build strong relationships and ensure execution of the joint business plans.
* Use fact-based selling to execute ad strategy, distribution of new items, shelf space, pricing, and promotional programs.
* Propose and develop solutions to address any performance issues.
* Build relationships at both chain and store level with customers.
* Conduct weekly market visits, inspecting execution and coaching sales partners on expectations.
* Manage all aspect of the brand including but not limited to marketing, pricing, merchandising, promotions, advertising, social media, PR, new product introductions.
* P&L responsibility for each product line. Manage, monthly, quarterly budgets, marketing plans, promotions and strategic plans.
* Test market mix of pricing, promotion, merchandising in local markets.
* Manage, analyze, track product portfolio performance to maximize product mix.
* Set up and negotiate grass roots marketing partnerships with target audience venues from.
* Manage and coordinate with field marketing team to ensure all events are planned and executed accordingly.
* Build strong online, social media presence where consumer want to actively participate spreading the word of the brand.
* Develop innovative methods to advertise to consumers in a regulated market that is relevant, legal and engaging.
IV. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree preferred; may substitute relevant experience.
* Experience calling on customers, with proven track record of sales planning, development of joint business plans, and execution of retail programs.
* Strong marketing background with a history in building consumer packaged goods. Experience build a lifestyle brand. Luxury branding a plus from alcohol, wine, fashion, etc. Cannabis experience Preferred.
* Solid analytical and technical skills in MS office, familiarity with syndicated data, and internal sales tools.
* Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals with varying knowledge and communication styles.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, good judgment, and creativity.
* Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
* Must be a self-starter and be willing to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
* Must be adept at organizational skills and prioritizing activities.
* Must be able to successfully coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Must be willing to have a somewhat flexible schedule, with some late nights and weekends required during limited times of the year based on business needs.
* Ability to work with autonomy as well as collaboratively with team members
