Job Description: Sales Analyst (alternate titles to stay consistent with new hire hierarchy: Coordinator/Manager, Commercial Analytics or Coordinator/Manager, Data Management and Reporting)
The Sales Analyst plays a leading role in development and implementation of in-house commercial reporting, data analytics and market insights, to be leveraged by Sales and Marketing stakeholders to identify and act on sales growth opportunities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the creation and company-wide adoption of in-depth commercial trackers, executive reports, and market context materials informed by both internal and external data sources
- Establish ongoing data analysis and reporting cadence to be leveraged by Finance, Sales and Marketing stakeholders to shape brand and field action plans / budgets
- Create and deliver C-level commercial reporting to succinctly deliver data in a digestible and actionable format
- Own delivery of monthly and quarterly sales analysis to Director of Sales, including gaps and opportunities at product/SKU, territory, and retail level
- Partner with Director of Sales to highlight territory-specific sales performance and set KPIs, highlighting distribution and volume opportunities for account universe
- Research cannabis retail category growth and deliver actionable data and insights to help sales identify target accounts and growth opportunities
- Collaborate with Marketing team to inform pricing and portfolio strategy with internal and external data sources and competitive market intelligence
- Serving as an adjunct member of the Sales and Marketing teams, collaborating seamlessly to leverage commercial analytics, strategic insights, and internal / external data to contribute to sales growth and KPI achievement
- Collaborate with retailers and third party data vendors such as BDS Analytics as needed to ensure relevant data delivery for the organization
- Partner with Finance to develop budget tracking tools and ROI reports to ensure that sales and marketing funds are being effectively spent and optimized on an ongoing basis
Required Experience
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or a related field
- 1 – 3 or 4 - 7 years of experience working in commercial analytics, data or reporting (depends on if we hire Coordinator or Manager)
- Experience with premium or luxury brands and companies preferred
- Successful track record of leveraging financial insights and data to inform impactful sales growth strategies
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally across departments, including Sales, Finance, Operations and Marketing
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
- Results-oriented with the ability to bring ideas from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability and ability to be nimble in a growing company and dynamic industry
