We seek a hard-working and highly motivated Sales Account Manager with strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills to work with a fun and dynamic team at Steep Hill. The role of Sales Account Manager is extremely important and requires a multifaceted skill set. The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers and overseeing sales, managing a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success, developing positive relationships and handling customers’ needs while generating new sales using existing and potential customer networks. The ability to work across a variety of tasks, in a startup environment, is an essential attribute for the successful candidate.

The Sales Account Manager reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. The Sales Account Manager will work to satisfy customers’ needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience. The Sales Account Manager will have experience with sales, relationship management, excellent communication and negotiation skills and be customer service oriented to grow our business by building successful, long-term client relationships. The Sales Account Manager will be expected to work across a multitude of tasks with attention to detail, organization, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop of an in-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry, its customers, and our competitors in the industry
Develop and implementation of sales strategies to achieve corporate goals
Develop, management, and cultivation of key accounts to achieve long-term success
Develop positive relationships with clients
Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs
Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
Partner with Regional Sales Manager to ensure all accounts are managed properly
Partner with Regional Sales Manager to provide feedback on marketing initiatives
Report on the status of accounts and transactions
Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
Monitor sales metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Provide amazing customer interaction and support
Perform a variety of clerical tasks that include maintaining SalesForce updates/accounts, spreadsheets, managing and organizing customer records
Capable of listening to the customers’ needs and able to advise and educate customer on test methods that best suit their needs
Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated
Respect and maintain the confidentiality of clients that utilize testing services
Ability to provide support and integrate seamlessly with other key departments within Steep Hill
Personal drive and commitment to ongoing improvement of the Customer Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must be at least 21 years old
Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must be comfortable working with cannabis
Previous experience in a sales account management and/or in the cannabis industry is preferred
Hands on experience in sales and an ability to deliver excellent customer experience
Knowledge of SalesForce, CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
Understanding of sales performance metrics
Ability to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time
Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
Four year degree in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field
Ability to maintain a helpful disposition during complex customer interactions
Curiosity and interest in the science of cannabis a plus
Ideal candidate will be a creative, analytical problem-solver who can cooperatively work effectively with colleagues
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions; works independently in the absence of supervision
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and GSuite (primarily Google Sheets & Google Docs), SalesForce
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written command), negotiation skills, with excellent computer, typing, and organizational abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, ability and willingness to multi-task, and the ability to prioritize and manage assignments
Comfortable making mathematical calculations
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients
Positive attitude and willingness to work in a collaborative environment
Personal integrity, disciplined work ethic, organization skills, and motivation to work with a sense of urgency
Willingness to work occasional weekends and after-hours for business meetings, trade shows, events and presentations
