Job Description:

Summary

The Retail Training Specialist is primarily responsible for the effective training of all new retail team members prior to their start date at
a retail location. This position is also responsible for creating new retail training programs for The Green Solution to correlate with other
divisions (NectarBee, S-Type Armored, TGSM, and TGS National), while establishing milestones and metrics to measure team
member progress. The Retail Trainer Specialist assesses retail developmental needs to drive all training initiatives and identify suitable
training solutions for team members. The Retail Training Specialist creates formats for quick start guides, cornerstone content, and
online trainings, coordinating with Executives and other high-level employees to populate these training documents with information
regarding new retail policies, procedures, products, and services. It is the responsibility of the Retail Training Specialist to work with
other departments to ensure a unified message is delivered across the company. Finally, The Retail Training Specialist conducts all
team member and manager training at the corporate office with an emphasis on building a strong company culture, identifying skills
and opportunities for development and managing the performance and progress of retail managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing the businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
  • Review and update all training materials and programs used for training
  • Create trainer development programs and coach team members involved in training efforts, providing development
    • Responsible for overall training effectiveness
  • Support all retail positions training and development
  • Coordinate with Executive team and stakeholders for creation and implementation of new policies and procedures as well as new products and services
  • Oversee training progress of team members and managers by conducting in-store training
  • Create content, online trainings, and tests for team members through a learning management system
  • Conduct all retail team member and manager trainings
  • Spend time in retail locations with retail teams and patrons to understand and identify critical business issues
  • Build a strong sales management culture with the operations team; coach managers, identify skills and opportunities for development; provide advice and guidance regarding management issues when needed, ensuring all issues are resolved and escalated through the appropriate Human Resources channels
  • Proactively manage/review the performance and progress of retail managers; set objectives and targets
  • Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards; promote integrity
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain a highly-skilled workforce
  • All other tasks and job duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field required

Training

  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to manage large teams with cross functional influence
  • Technical skills including digital file maintenance and handling, uploading, downloading, file conversions, file naming conventions, and document storage
  • Familiarity with word processing, design, database, point-of-sales, and web-based software applications
  • High-level attention to detail
  • Excellent influential, collaborative, and relationship building skills
  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with shifting workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience
  • preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be able to acquire MED Support badge ($75 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment

Travel Requirements

  • Requires frequent travel, as needed, to multiple retail locations across Colorado
