The Sweet Cannabis Merchandiser will act as a business conduit, building and maintaining the visible, consumer-facing identity of the Company’s brand families at the retail level. Working with the Sales Manager to understand consumer purchasing trends, the Merchandiser will ensure that all Sweet Cannabis retail and promotional presentations convey the highest levels of professionalism, quality and attention to detail that underpin the Sweet business and culture.
Job Description:
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Distribute, construct, and maintain merchandising/display materials throughout all Sweet Cannabis accounts statewide;
- Maintain customer relationships at the client and employee level; address questions and describe product features to promote sales maximization;
- Manage accounts through weekly, bi-monthly and monthly scheduled visits as determined by State Sales Manager;
- Maintain inventory levels and visual presentation of Sweet Cannabis products at the retail level, ensuring correct positioning of all items;
- Disburse promotional items, informational pamphlets and merchandising materials to all accounts, observing customer reactions and forwarding feedback to management regularly;
- Complete call reports by observing display and pricing of competitors' products;
- Ensure quality and consistency by reporting any issues, inventory shortages, and sales or promotional opportunities to the appropriate Sales Associate and State Sales Manager;
- Maintain current job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and networking events;
- Assist in setup/teardown and maintain presence at trade show and booths and promotional events, representing Sweet Cannabis in a professional manner;
- Perform other duties as required by State Sales Manager, Sales Director, and Executive Team.
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Good understanding of Oregon cannabis industry and culture, policies and state regulations;
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques;
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook applications, and possess the aptitude to learn other business-related applications as necessary.
Skills:
- Customer-centric mentality with focus on quality and service;
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.;
- Creative and marketing abilities;
- Effective listening and ability understand the needs of clients;
- Ability to work effectively with basic tools (e.g. hammer, screwdriver).
Other Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be minimum of 21 years of age;
- Possess a valid Marijuana Worker’s Permit;
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
- 2 years’ experience in merchandising or retail;
- Experience in the Oregon cannabis industry considered an asset.
