Job Purpose:
As a Retail Designer you’ll bring forward-thinking and imaginative ideas to support new concepts in retail. You need a vivid imagination that is fed by a strong curiosity about the world around you, and a passion for searching out new perspectives and processes. With your advanced design skills, you will create original retail design solutions that reflect Cura’s design ethos, support retail business targets, and enhance the consumer retail experience. You’ll work within teams and work independently to complete the most technically challenging projects. In addition, you’ll need to communicate and present design concepts to the Team/Leader/Director and create presentation materials that effectively communicate the design vision and goals.
What You Do:
- Assist on elevating the brand design experience through original storytelling using 2D and 3D design for consumer facing concepts
- Design with clear ideation through color, materiality, texture, spacing, proportion, scale and outstanding use of environments
- Have a developed understanding and ongoing inquisitiveness of digital integration in retail experiences
- Design with versatility and constantly seek new and innovative ways to design for consumer experience, graphics, photography, retail and digital
- Gain and share knowledge of current and future trends influencing the consumer experience and technology
- Work collaboratively between cross-functional teams, agencies, and vendors
- Create presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts’ intent and impact
- Actively gain knowledge and experience regarding Cura’s design ethos, the Cura matrix, products and processes
Qualifications:
- Must have an OLCC Marijuana Worker's Permit to work at Cura
Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Environmental, or Industrial Design
- 2-3 years of architectural, experiential, or brand design and demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence
- A clean, innovative and aesthetic taste-level
- Proven ability to perform and apply design skills, including architectural design, space planning, visual presentation, and design development into built reality
- Experience working collaboratively with a team and also leading smaller design projects
- Positivity and eagerness to do great work in a team environment
- Ability to manage a dynamic set of multiple work priorities, demands and changes
- Retail design industry/environments and fixture design experience is preferred
- High level of expertise using computer design applications
