The Sales Manager contributes to Joint Rivers’ success by ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth store operations and procedures & policies are followed during their shifts. People in this role coach the sales team and support them to be the best.

Sales Manager job responsibilities and behaviors include but are not limited to:

Store Operations

  • Build weekly schedules for staff.
  • Assist with payroll.
  • Ensure the team follows all LCB policies and regulations on their shift.
  • Create a safe environment for customers and employees by following safety guidelines.
  • Delegate the daily cleaning tasks and following up to ensure the tasks were completed to standard.
  • Coach the team to follow Joint Rivers’ operational policies and procedures as explained in the employee handbook.
  • Execute store operations during shifts.
  • Organize opening, closing, cleaning tasks and coordinate breaks for employees.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure floor is staffed appropriately and extra employees are tasked to non-customer facing projects or sent home.
  • Ensure safe counts are accurate, create change for tills and compile the daily cash deposit.

Leadership

  • Set a good example for the team by adhering to job responsibilities.
  • Communicate problems and concerns to the manager.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team accomplishments with positive feedback.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to manager on employee performance and morale.
  • Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to employees on their shift to improve their performance.

Customer Care

  • Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating environment and customers for cues.
  • Step in to diffuse difficult customer situations.
  • Have a healthy curiosity about the cannabis industry. Constantly look for ways to improve Joint Rivers and share those ideas with the General Manager so the leadership team can work together toward excellence.
  • Engage in conversation with customers to understand their needs in order to create a positive experience.

Specific qualifications for the role include:
Minimum :
High school diploma or GED

3-5 years leading a sales team in a retail or service environment

Preferred :
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field

Passion for cannabis, education, and leadership.

Experience selling in a Retail or Service environment

Ability to network and build community involvement

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

Ability to coach a diverse team of individuals and hold them accountable for results
