APORS Registered Nurse

The Rock Island County Health Department has a part-time opening available for an RN in our high-risk infant program. This position 32 hours/week (24 hrs APORS/8 hrs filling out medical cannabis applications). This position includes benefits: vacation, sick, and personal time and Holiday pay plus medical, vision, and dental is offered. No nights, weekends, or Holidays!

Summary of Job Duties:

Under general supervision, following accepted nursing practices and the policies and protocols of the Rock Island County Health Department:

  • Responsible for completing an appropriate number of face-to-face or home visits and preparing a care plan based on the assessment of the whole family
  • Follows the appropriate policies and procedures for the following programs: Health Works, APORS, and/or High Risk Infant Follow-up, if assigned
  • Maintains accurate records, clinical charts, reports and proper documentation
  • May provide screening for developmental deficits, mental and nutritional health
  • Provides education related to reproductive life planning and anticipatory guidance
  • Facilitates effective working relationships with a variety of community and governmental agencies including professional, individual and associations
  • Communicates effectively with a variety of client personalities and cultures
  • Maintains client and department confidentiality
  • Meets and maintains OSHA standards
  • Candidate will also assist people in filling out medical cannabis applications

Required:

Current Illinois Registered Nurse license

Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle insurance

Preferred:

Experience in pediatric health
