We seek a hard-working and highly motivated Regional Sales Manager in Southern California with strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills to lead a fun, dynamic team in the most exciting and fast-paced cannabis industry across the United States. The Regional Sales Manager, Southern California is extremely important within the company and requires a multi-faceted skill set. The successful candidate is responsible for identifying sales leads, creating and deploying regional sales plans, generating business development, account management and customer relationships and providing leadership to a team of Field Technicians. The Regional Sales Manager, Southern California will devise and execute a strategy to drive revenue in the Southern California region and collaborate cross-departmentally to implement initiatives. The Regional Sales Manager, Southern California will generate new lead sources and expand the target customer base, and ensure customer needs are met. The ability to work across a variety of tasks, in a startup environment, is an essential attribute for the successful candidate.
The Regional Sales Manager, Southern California is responsible for the company’s overall Southern California sales strategy and leading the Steep Hill team in Southern California. Sales strategy includes the full breadth of Steep Hill offerings including regulatory and non-regulatory testing services, cultivation science services, consulting and ancillary products. The individual in this position will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and work closely with Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Science, Accounting, and Software Development to implement an efficient, growth-driven sales program.

Development of an in-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry, its customers, and our competitors in the industry
Development and implementation of sales strategies to achieve corporate goals
Development, management, and cultivation of key accounts
Delegation, management, and/or performance of a wide array of cross-departmental leadership tasks and projects, on an as-needed basis
Serving as a liaison for the company with all distribution platforms
Creation of written sales pitches and supporting materials
Management of performance analytics and sales forecasting in SalesForce
Implementation of sales reporting to formulate performance-driven sales team processes
Partner with Marketing team to provide feedback about marketing initiatives
Tracking and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Ensuring the efficient communication between the internal team and customers
Salesforce maintenance, data integrity, and timeliness
Event, conference, and trade show planning, including logistics and management
Professional representation of the company at industry events
Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
The ability to provide support and integrate seamlessly with other key departments of Steep Hill Labs
The ability and willingness to provide advice and education to clients as necessary regarding the tests best-suited to their requirements
Performance of other duties and assumption of other responsibilities on an as-needed basis, or as delegated
Personal drive and commitment to ongoing improvement of the Customer Experience at Steep Hill REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must be at least 21 years old
Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and product-related information in a professional consultative manner
3-5 years of sales leadership experience (Director / Manager / VP) in Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Cannabis, Pharmaceuticals or a relevant industry. Previous experience working in the cannabis industry is a significant plus
Proficiency with Salesforce is required
Proven ability to plan and execute a sales strategy that generates and develops new business, while maintaining and nurturing the existing customer base
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build a strong team
Personal integrity, disciplined work ethic, organization skills, and motivation to work with a sense of urgency
The ability to adapt to rapid changes and utilize newly-emergent technological solutions (e.g., Zendesk, Xero, Slack, and Power BI, [as well as company-built ERP (MyLab™)]
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and GSuite (primarily Google Sheets & Google Docs)
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written command) with excellent computer, typing, and organizational abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, ability and willingness to multi-task, and the ability to prioritize and manage assignments
Hours/Schedule: Flexible, as required by the job QUALIFICATIONS:
