Position: Regional Operations Manager (California)

Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Overview:

Have a Heart is a cannabis retailer headquartered in Seattle, Washington. We are entering an aggressive period of expansion in the state of California and need an experienced operations manager to help us build out, launch and operate retail stores across the state. The ambitious individual we seek is well rounded, and capable of managing or collaborating with a diverse staff, in addition to executing a wide variety of operational functions consistent with a rapidly growing retail business in a unique regulatory environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations on new store build outs and launch efforts.
  • Assist the Director of Operations in transitioning launch stores into normal retail operations.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of store operations within the region once said transition is complete.
  • Manage, train and hire members of the maintenance team within the region of responsibility
  • Complete store inspection - and fix any possible issues - on a weekly basis to ensure our retail operations are complaint with cannabis laws and company policy.
  • Capable of physical exertion and manual labor, such as fixing display cases and electrical equipment with members of the maintenance team.
  • Utilize knowledge of cutting-edge technologies to boost organizational productivity and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the purchasing and marketing department to effectively implement changes at the store level.
  • Maintain and report on key metrics to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain the department’s budget.
  • Maintain and report out on key metrics to the Director of Operations.
  • Coordinate with the compliance team on ensuring stores meet standards set by governing authorities.
  • Capable of assessing the impact of change and develop processes to ensure effective implementation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required. Exceptional candidates without a college degree will still be considered.
  • 5+ of proven work experience in operations, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Multi-lingual candidate highly desirable.
  • Experience working in California a must - retail environment highly preferred.
  • Comfortable with leading projects (scope, timeline, resources) and project management
  • Strong-interpersonal skills in order to work with both specialists and front-line employees.
